Whenever talking about fame, many people will list its advantages or disadvantages firstly. Very often, I hear people say that fame can bring celebrity and regards to one and more importantly, it can help one attract public attention. While other people say that fame is an evil for it can make one trapped in it and then destroy his life. However, has anyone ever thought about that, it is whether fame itself that does these good or bad stuffs, or our attitudes towards it make the differences?

Just like many other things in the world, fame is neither good nor bad by nature. The reason that makes people think there are differences between good fame and bad fame lies in the attitude towards it. We know that different person owns different attitude towards fame, so different people runs after different kinds of fame, and then fame differ from one to another, thus there come the advantages and disadvantages of fame.

What’s your definition of “fame”? Or what kind of fame do you want? If the answer is flowers, statues and money, I have to say “Being careful! You are advancing fame in a dangerous direction!” the fact is when people run after a kind of fame like this, they may easily got themselves trapped into an endless cycle of pursuing more and more fame, and never to be satisfied. When having grasped one thing that they think is one kind of fame, they will compare it with others’ consciously or not. And they will find there is always someone owning more than them so they will begin the journey again. It is endless. Finally they will lose themselves on the road of seeking for fame. Many famous stars are on this road.

But when we regard fame as reputation, honor of oneself, or road to achieve the meaning of life, we may see a positive aspect of it. Good reputation requires one cling to his self-discipline or self-control all the time, which can drive him to act well and own good manners. Honor can strong one’s will and firm his actions towards great goals. This can be easily understood in the era of war-“Fighting for the honor of our motherland!” And fame is also a good tool for some people who have the world in their hearts. Good fame means a big affection or a powerful leadership. The person who owns a good fame can more easily affect and lead the public towards better transformations. And it is important for the building of history.

Above all of these, we can see that it is not fame itself but our attitude towards it that makes fame be good or evil. Only when we have realized this, can we know how to definite fame rightly and let it play a positive role in our self-development.

Doubtlessly,Fame can brings an abundance of advantages.Everyone has amour-propre essentially.When you are applauded and admired by others,you will naturally feel a sense of pround,which can easily increase your self-confidence and let you keep in good mood.Furthermore,fame is able to smooth the way whichever you go,in other words,it surely brings you convenience.For exsample,if you are a famous writer,with the respect of public,your works will be accepted by publishing company without doubt while a less famous writer may have to wait for his reply for a long time,no matter how excellent his works is.Of cause,fame can brings you the most important thing—wealth.Taking the advantages of your public concern let you make money easily,for example,super stars introduce some products in screen to public with millions of recompense,isn’t quite easy to make your fortune?

However,there are also many disadvantages when you become famous.Firstly,you will lose your freedom .Instead of doing what you want to do,you have to do things in accordance with the public’s expectation because media is always ready to amplify your shortcoming ,namely,you will become the slave of your fame.Secondly, there are numerous people focus on you everyday,which means that you must pay attention to your behavior to matain your reputation and say nothing of privacy.

Whether fame has more advantages or disadvantages depends on what you put as the priority in your life.Fore me,the sense of happiness is the most important thing,I don’t want to be astricted by anything.In consequence,I would like to be an ordinary person.Everyone perchase fame in order to live a happy life,if I can be happy as an ordinary person more easily,It is meaningless to be famouse.
