This I believe

Every person have some beliefs by instinct because of the strong sense of belonging and security. We believe in our parents when we are infants. As we grow elder, we are exposed to various thoughts and beliefs. We start to learn, to identify, to choose what we believe. From my perspective, I believe that you can achieve any success as long as you have 100% intention of what you are doing.

It may seem ridiculous if you take into account accidents, stubbornness and so on. In society, many people abandon their dreams forced by the cruel reality, who used to firmly insist on their original ideals. With the passage of time and accumulation of social experience, we are taught ”survival of fittest”. In order to survive, we must go to our great lengths to establish ourselves perfect persons adapted to various aspects of society, even if we need to run counter to our dreams and reconcile with reality sometimes.

In the past, I cast the same doubt on the belief as many people. However, a outdoor lesson make shifts on my thoughts. We were all told to go through a road in different ways. It was just like kidding! How could the last person find the 1000th way with the sum of 1000 people! Some people were confused and stop at the first time. When they lost hope, we gave inspiring cheers for them and offered some suggestions. Some danced, some circled, some hobbled…In the end, everybody found their unique ways to gain success in laughters! It made me reflect on my past life and I found that I could have gone on a further step most of the time I had stopped and failed. It is true that method plays a prominent role in the process of success but everything has infinite possibilities and you can always seek out the undiscovered potentials as long as you continue to explore.

Of course only a small game cannot totally change my thoughts. After the game, we all receive a orienteering task limited in a seemingly impossible time. If it was arranged before the game, I would surely give up and run at a most comfortable speed. But now ,I truly want to try. I try to persuade myself that if you have 100% intention, you will try your best to adjust yourself to approach your goal. And I considered the task a test of the belief. Finally we reached an impossible time in spite of failure to fulfill the task. It never occurred to me that we could run so fast with so perfect cooperation! I had never felt the outburst of excitement! Even though we failed, I perceived more happiness than when I had succeeded with 50% intention. We should trust ourselves that we will be able to realize our dreams in our limited life. If you have 100% intention, you will motivate yourself to learn various abilities concerned about your dreams. If you have 100% intention, you will make full advantage of your limited resources and work out the best solution. If you have 100% intention, you are willing to fully trust your dream and contribute your full energy. If you have 100% intention, you will not be disappointed even if you fail at last. You will try it again and again and eventually pass the flame to descendants when your life is about to end and the course will be a dispensable part of your life.

May 20,2005 Friday Sunny

This evening I went to the KTV with some of my good friends.

This was the first time that I had been to a KTV. At first I didn't want to go. I had been in a bad mood the whole afternoon because I didn't do well in the math exam. At the KTV, everybody sang his favourite songs very happily except me. I was the only one of the audience.
