Firstly, potential risks are inevitable for college students who own private cars. On the one hand, college students are full of energy and anxious of doing everything. They are fond of adventures without concerning the consequences. But it is obvious that caution is needed while driving a car. On the other hand, there are illegal members wandering alongside the colleges and those driving private cars must be their aims. And in reality accidents of that kind can be seen from television or newspapers that constantly.

Secondly, to own private cars is to show off. Cars are luxurious stuffs which belong to the rich people. To the rich family, it is easy to afford cars to their children. However, to the poor family, tuition fees and living expenditure are beyond what they can afford. As a result, students can be easily sort out economically. Those who can not pay for private cars may feel unfair and being looked down upon. Thus real friendship between the two opposite sorts seldom exists.

Moreover, owning private cars does not help college students cherish the value of themselves. It is certain that most of the private cars are paid by parents. If college students get their private cars without any striving, they will find it meaningless to work hard and they will never know how hard it is to earn money.
