A Cat

I will never forget the summer when I was eleven. I was completely shocked by a cat as I was fishing near a pond.

It was very hot that summer. As usual, nobody wanted to go outside. But I was different. I couldn’t stand staying home all day alone. The quietness even made me mad. I love the nature. When I breathe I can even smell the sunlight and the grass. This makes me very excited. Those days I was in a bad mood because I got a very low score in my courses and my parent quarreled frequently. I wanted to find a quiet space only for me.

Unwilling to see the war break out between my parents, I determined to forget it and go fishing near the pond. I took my fishing tools and headed for the destination. During the fishing time I was so bored that I began to observe other things. Suddenly, a cat ran in my sight. She was running after a ball rolling very fast towards the pond. Cat had no worries and led a cozy life. How I wish I were a cat.

Unfortunately, the boll was rolling towards the pond and the cat didn’t notice it and without hesitation ran into the pond. I couldn’t help crying thinking that she was to die. The cat was so tiny that she didn’t have the skill of swimming. My heart went out for her. I did everything to help her but failed to touch her. As I was about to give up, the cat learnt how to swim and got out of the pond. Thank goodness！

Although the cat was trapped in the water she didn’t give up the hope for life and finally she survived. I was totally shocked and moved by the spirit of the cat. Whenever you are stuck you shouldn’t lose the hope for life. There is hope as long as you are alive. Until today I still remember the cat because she has made a great difference in my life.

猫经常清理自己的毛。小猫在很多时候，爱舔身子，自我清洁。饭后猫会用前爪擦擦胡子，被人抱后用舌头舔舔毛。这是猫的本能，去除自己身上的异味以躲避捕食者的追踪。猫的舌头上有许多粗糙的小突起，这是除去脏污最合适不过的工具。在主人抚摩猫以后，猫舔自己被抚摩的地方：猫在记忆人的味道，因为它担心与主人分开后找不到主人。许多人误认为这是猫嫌自己脏。

情绪

猫在高兴时，尾巴会竖起来，或者发出呼噜呼噜的声音。猫生气的时候，会使劲地摇尾巴。如果你惹它生气了，它有可能会猛地扑向你。

家猫基本特征

贪吃，贪玩，贪睡，爱吃鱼虾、动物肝脏和小型啮齿动物，比较容易亲近人。
