据悉，司马光的母亲并非像我们大家期望的那样表扬他一番，而是对这个小男孩儿“大大出手”，理由是那个缸历史已久，可以算是一个文物了，园子的负责人要求赔偿5万元人民币。他母亲边打边嚷嚷：“让你逞英雄，让你逞英雄......”

被救的小男孩儿一家在感到非常庆幸的同时，并没有登门向司马光表示感激，在听说还要赔文物之后，更是对司马光一家敬而远之。并且还在媒体面前多次宣称自己也是受害者，而且就是司马光怂恿他们家娃儿上假山上玩儿的，救人本是理所应当，还对司马光大大批评了一番。
