在整理桌子上一沓厚厚的信件时，一个字迹打印得异常漂亮的信封突然映入我的眼帘。这封信不知何故吸引了我，于是最先拆开了它。

昂贵的信笺纸上，工工整整地流淌着同样漂亮的浅褐色字迹。整封信简直就是私人信件的典范。我禁不住读了起来：

亲爱的柯蒂斯博士：

过去数月，您在心智科学教会主日礼拜上的布道让我激动不已，我从中获益非浅。您讲课的内容应当发表出来，以便让更多的人跟我一样受到启迪。

我有个建议。您若能将每周讲课的录音带给我，我愿为您转换为文字稿，完稿后与录音带一并奉还。

“您好，”我开口说。“我是唐纳德·柯蒂斯，请问佐拉斯小姐在吗？我想感谢她把录音转换成了如此漂亮的文稿。”

我一口应承下来，五点钟准时出现在约定的地点。接待我的是一位热情贤淑的女士，我立刻听出了她的声音。“下午好，柯蒂斯博士。欢迎光临，佐拉斯小姐在会客室等候。”

我被领进一个温馨、舒适的房间，里面有位女士坐在轮椅上。她的头向一边痛苦地扭曲着，身体抽搐不止，两手紧紧夹在膝盖中间。她开口说话时面带微

笑，脸上露出一丝光彩。虽然一举一动都疼痛难忍，玛丽·路易斯依然流露出欢乐和喜悦之情。

An envelope addressed to me in unusually beautiful typescript caught my eye as I sorted today’s mail which was piled high on my desk. Something about the letter commanded my attention, so I opened it first.

The same beautiful typescript in light brown unfolded in balanced precision across the sheet of expensive stationary. The entire letter was a model of perfection for personal correspondence. It invited me to read it:

Dear Dr. Cutis:

I have been thrilled by your talks at the Sunday service of the Science of the

Mind Church at the Fox Wilshire Theatre during the past months. I get so much out of them. Your lessons should be published so that everyone can be inspired by them as I am.

Here is a suggestion. If you send me the tape-recording of your Sunday talk each week, I will transcribe it for you can return the tape along with the typed transcription.

I pray that you will allow me to be of service in this way. I want to help others share the great good which you have given me. Just have your secretary call and someone will pick up the tape each Monday morning.

God is blessing you and your great work.

The signature was typed in the same unusual typescript. There was no handwriting.

As I finished the letter, I experienced excitement that always accompanies an answered prayer. For months I had been looking for someone to transcribe my Sunday sermon, but could find no one who would transcribe directly from the tape I used on my tape record. I start-stop mechanism had yet not been invented and operating the record by hand and taping at the same time was just too much to handle. In the mean time, I was frustrated as the tape recording piled up. I had no transcriptions upon which to base a book.

And now, out of the blue, came this letter from Mary Louise Zollars. I hastened to call the number given in the letter and asked to speak to her.

“I would be happy to give her a message,” a friendly female voice replied. “May I speak to her personally?” I asked.

“She can’t come to the phone right now,” the voice replied. “Please give me your message.”

“Thank you,” I said. “Just tell her Donald Curtis called in response to her wonderful letter.”

“She will be glad you called” was the answer. “Could you tell me when

someone can pick up the tape of your Sunday lesson?”

“I would be happy to deliver it personally,” I persisted. I was eager to have personal contact with this angel who had been sent to me.

“That won’t be necessary. Please have the tape ready at your office at noon tomorrow, and it will be picked up. Oh---Miss Zollars has her own tape recorder to play the tape on for her to transcribe. The tape and the transcription will be returned to you before the end of the week.”

“Thank you very much,” I replied. “The tape will be at my office tomorrow as you requested.”

I was puzzled by the seeming mystery of the arrangement, but I gladly went along with it because of the great good fortune that had come to me.

Two days later the first tape and the pages of the transcription were returned to my office. They were in the same unusual typescript and light brown ink, and each page was perfect. The space was consistent, the margins justified, and there wasn’t a typo anywhere. I was happy as I read through the manuscript. This was exactly what I needed for the first draft of my book. I hastened to call Miss Zollars to thank her. The same friendly voice answered the phone.

“Hello,” I spoke. “This is Donald Curtis. Could I speak to Miss Zollars? I want to thank her for the beautiful transcription.”

“Oh, hello, Dr. Curtis,” came the answer. “I’ll give Miss Zollars your message. She will be glad you called. Remember, be sure to have the tape of your Sunday talk available at your office on Monday morning. We’ll pick it up as before.”

This same procedure went on for nearly a year. The flow of perfectly typed transcription continued to reach me each week, and I gleaned enough good “stuff” from them to complete my first book. But I still had no personal contact with my transcribing angel. She didn’t answer my phone calls but answered my “thank you” letters with warm letters of her own, all written perfectly in the same unique style.

A personal call came for me one afternoon, and a familiar voice greeted me, “Dr. Curtis, I am calling for Miss Zollars. She would like to invite you to tea this afternoon at five. Can you come?”

2011年农历七月初九日十一时四十分，我的姨妈因患卵巢癌并发淋巴癌，生命的火焰熄灭了，终年40周岁。姨妈的人生是那样的短暂，姨妈的离别是那样的匆忙，匆忙的没有来得及看亲人们一眼，匆忙的没有来得及向左邻右舍道声别，匆忙的没有向自己的子女说上几句话，匆忙的没顾得上安排好一切、一切。

姨妈的一生是短暂平凡的一生，却又是伟大高尚的一生，是备尝艰辛而又坚忍不拔的一生。姨妈于1971年农历3月22日出生于芙蓉镇芙蓉村10组，7岁就读于芙蓉中心完小，因家庭负担较重 ，小学毕业即辍学，过早的承担起了家庭的责任，生活的艰难早早的铸就了姨妈吃苦耐劳、勤俭持家的坚韧品性。1992年，经人介绍姨妈与姨夫结婚，生养了一对儿女，随着孩子的相继出生，经济负担的不断增加，姨夫离开家乡，外出打工，姨妈勇敢承担起家庭的重担，每天披星戴月，下地耕作，晚上纺针织线，缝补浆洗，在姨夫姨妈的努力和精打细算下，日子过的虽然清贫但却也滋滋润润。待儿女稍长，为了提高生活水准，1996年姨妈毅然远赴广东打工，贴补家用。1998年发生洪涝灾害，家中房屋全部倒塌，家中衣物荡然无存，洪灾面前，展现了姨妈坚强的一面，为求得生存，为供养子女，为赡养公婆，一切白手起家，辛苦耕耘，重新描绘了一幅人生的蓝天。但老天不公，生活的厄运却降临到我那善良而坚强的姨妈身上，2008年姨妈身患卵巢癌，并扩转淋巴癌 ，

虽经九江、南昌、上海等多地医院多方医治，却没能挽救姨妈宝贵的生命。

姨妈！我在念出这个词的时候，眼泪夺眶而出。因为这个词，在这一刻闪出无数往事，犹如夜空中的礼花一样绚丽多彩。姨妈待人诚恳，与人为善，她的一生为了他人活着，为了儿女活着。姨妈备尝生活的酸甜苦辣，养成了真诚善良的品德。有时遇到门前乞讨的或者有困难的人，她都倾力相助，哪怕自己少吃一顿饭，少穿一件衣。有时家里有好吃好喝的，她都留下一些，等着有亲戚邻里家的孩子过来分给他们。家里杀了一只鸡，她总是吃鸡头鸡脚，还说自己就是爱吃这个。孩子们的吃饭穿衣学习已然成了姨妈一生的事业，家庭成了她生命的全部。姨妈最大的爱好就是看着自己的孩子吃饭的样子，最大的幸福就是看着侄儿侄女我们这些晚辈学习进步，以后过上安稳舒适的日子。

姨妈生性爱干净，孩子们的衣服从小就比别的孩子衣服要整洁。在姨夫外出打工的几年里，姨妈一如既往的保持着良好的卫生习惯，她习惯于整天从家里扫进扫出，抹门拖地，洗洗刷刷，姨妈认为只有干干净净，家才像个家，才有家的感觉。

姨妈虽然饱受疾病的折磨，却时常为他人着想。一次，我们几个晚辈来看望她，正值姨妈的卵巢癌疼痛又开始发作，但是她没有出声，只是用手紧紧的捏着被角，嘴巴闭的紧紧的，我知道当时她一定很疼。姨妈是一个很要强的人，从来不愿把自己的苦处告诉别人，如果有什么事情也是自己扛着，很少去麻烦别人，她喜欢帮别人排忧解难，而自己有事却不说，埋在心里。

如今，姨妈已离我们而去，我们再也看不到她了，从此就再也听不到她那清脆的声音，再也看不到她那温暖的笑脸，再也看不到她那略带伤感的眼神，以后来这里喊姨妈再也没有人应答了！（哽咽）

姨妈，你一直都期望你的下辈们都能出人头地，过上好日子，可你为什么就不再等等呢，你的下辈们还需要你见证我们幸福日子的到来，眼看着好日子就要来了，你却急忙离去，为什么呀，姨妈？

姨妈，生病前你对我们关怀备至，这些我们都知道，你怎么不给我们一个报答的机会呢？生病后你多次不想用药，目的就是不想给家里添负担，不想给姨夫添压力，可是，姨妈，你这一走，留下我姨夫他一个人该多孤单啊！你忍心吗？

姨妈，我们再也没有机会聆听您慈爱的絮叨，再也没有机会品尝您饭菜的滋味，再也没有机会为您端上一杯热茶，再也没有机会为您购买一件您喜爱的物品，所有的一切都化成我们对您的无限思念。

如今，亡者已逝，来者尤追。我们相信，逝去的只是您的躯体，升华的将是您永恒的灵魂！

姨妈，您独自登上了通往天堂的路，愿脚下的流萤能够照亮您远行的路程。当黎明来临的时候，我们相信，您已经到达了天堂，过上了没有痛苦的生活。

请所有的亲人、朋友和长辈们以及基督会友们，从沉重的痛苦中抬起头来，让姨妈安心的只带着快乐和温暖长眠。愿姨妈在天堂永远快乐，我们双手合十，为您祈祷。
