A. 如何开口了解别人的情况
Who is this/that? 这位(那位)是谁?
向对方打听第三者的姓名时的用语。who is可缩写成who's。回答这一提问时要注意, 要用This/That is ...句型,不用He/She is ... 句型。
How old + be + 主语? ??多少岁?
How old is Mr Zhang? 张先生有多大年纪?
Where+be+主语? ??在什么地方?
Where is Liu Fang? 刘芳在什么地方?
Mike, where are you? 迈克,你在哪里?
B. be in 在家
He is in all day. 他一整天都在家。
in 在此为副词,放在be后面做表语。类似的表达法有be out(出去), be on(电灯等开着;上演)等。如:He is out.(他出去了)。 Is the water on?(水龙头开着吗?)
单元难点疑点释疑
1. Who is this/that? 这/那是谁?
Who is he/she? 他/她是谁?
对于上面的问句,可以回答这个人的姓名,也可以是这个人的身份等。例如: —Who's he? 他是谁?
—He is Tom Brown. 他是汤姆·布朗。
或者回答成:
—He is my friend. 他是我的朋友。
—He is an English teacher. 她是位英语教师。
2. I don't know. 我不知道。
句中don't是do not的缩略形式, don't与行为动词原形构成否定句,意为“不??” 。例如:
I don't know his name. 我不知道他的名字。
I don't know the twins. 我不认识这对双胞胎。
3. I think she's twelve. 我想她12岁了。
“I think...”是 “我想??”或“我认为??”的意思,说话语气比较委婉。例如 :
I think he's Mr Zhang. 我想他是张先生。
I think it's a Chinese car. 我认为它是一辆中国小汽车。
4. This is Han Meimei. She is eleven. 这是韩梅梅,她11岁。
This is Li Lei. He is twelve. 这是李磊,他12岁。

上述三组词语中的she, he, it分别代替了句子中的Han Meimei, Li Lei及 a bird, 称为代词。
(1) she (她) 代表已经提到过的某位女士。例如:
This is Miss Gao. She is my teacher. 这是高老师,她是我的老师。
My friend is a girl. She's in class 4. 我的朋友是位女孩,她在4班。
(2) he(他)代表已经提到过的某位男士。例如:
—Who's that old man? 那位老人是谁?
—I think he's Mr Zhang. 我想他是张先生。
—Is everyone here today? 今天全到了吗?
—No. Li Lei isn't here. 不,李磊缺席。

(3) it(它)可以指一件东西或一只动物。例如:
—What's this? 这是什么?

今天全到了吗?
代词everyone意思是“每个人”、“人人”、“大家”。here和today均系副词,分别 表示“(在)这儿”,“(在)今天”。一个表示地点,另一个表示时间。例如:
Everyone is here today. 今天全到了。
Is Miss Gao here today? 高老师今天来了吗/到了吗?
Li Lei isn't here today. 李磊今天没到/缺度。
6. Where is she? 她在哪里?
在Unit 2中已讲过由where引出的特殊疑问句,它可以用副词here作为答语,也可用表示地点、位置的介词短语作为答语。例如:
—Where is she? 她在哪里?
—She's here. 她在这儿。
或者回答成:
—She's at school. 她在学校里/在上学。
7. Mike: Hello, Bill? 迈克:喂,是比尔吗?
Sam: No, this is Sam. 萨姆:不,我是萨姆。
上面是打电话中的一段用语。其中this is Sam不是向对方介绍“萨姆”,而是自我介 绍。如果询问对方是谁的话,习惯用“Is that??”或“Who's that?”例如:

—Hello! This is Lin Tao. How are you, Li Lei? 喂!我是林涛。李磊,你好 吗?
8. Is your friend a boy or a girl? 你的朋友是男孩还是女孩?
(1) 这是一句选择疑问句。选择疑问句是询问两种情况中哪一种事实的疑问句。 结构是:“一般疑问句+or+选择的部分+?”例如:
Is this an apple or an orange? 这是只苹果,还是只橙子?
Is he at home or at school? 他是在家呢,还是在校?
(2) 选择疑问句的回答,不能用yes或no,要根据实际情况回答。例如上面两句答语是:
It's an apple. 这是一只苹果。
He's at home. 他在家里。
(3) 选择疑问句的语调,一般or前的部分用升调,or后的部分用降调。
9. I’m in Class 4 和 Is bill in, Sam? 两句中的in的异同
前句中的in是介词,意思是“在??里(内,上)”,Class 4是介词in的宾语, in Class 4意思是“在四班”。后句中的in是副词,意思是“在家,到家”。如:

在第五单元我们已学过了以what开头的特殊疑问句。在本单元里
又出现了以who开头的特殊疑问句。what什么.who谁.这两个都称为疑
问代词。问事情用what问人表示谁时用who后面的句型词序是一样的。
我们可以这样提问:Who is he ? He is Li Lei .Who is she ? she is Han Meimei.
Is he a student ? Yes, he is.或No,he isn’t.
一般疑问句Is she a teacher ? Yes she is.或No, she isn’t.
在第五单元中我们学过了特殊疑问句和一般疑问句型以及它们的回答形式。下面我们要学的句型是选择疑问句:
What’s that in English ? Is it an egg ?
例:Is she a student or a teacher ? she is a student.
她是一个学生呢还是一个老师呢? 她是一名学生。

选择疑问句的构成是:由or连接两个一般疑问句。“or”在这里是连词。
如:Are you a student ? Are you a teacher.这是两个一般疑问句。如果用or连接起来就成为一个句子,那么可以省略相同部分。就构成了上面所给例句的形式。
选择疑问句有两个特点。
①朗读时or
,最后用降调,称为:先升后降。
这是你的猫还是你的鸟?
②回答时不能用yes或No回答,要做直接回答(与特殊疑问句一样)。

以上这些都称为人称代词。人称代词分两种:①主格形式②宾格形式。
主格形式:I, you, she , he, it, we, you, they. 人称代词宾格形式:me, you , her, him, it, us, you, them
人称代词的主格形式只能在句中做主语成份。

人称代词的宾格形式在句中可以做宾语或表语成份。
如:请帮他一把。

人称代词的you你,你们,单数与复数一样,主格与宾格的形式一样,还有it也是主格,宾格一致。
试比较:①Are you a student ? Yes, I am. 你是学生吗?我是学生。(单数)
Are you students ? Yes, We are. 你是学生吗?是的,我们是学生。
因此,单、复数一目了然,表示你时,名词前面有一个冠词a表示复数时,名词前的冠词去掉,把名词变成复数形式。
②现在七点钟了。it在此句中是主语。
请把它交给老师。it在此句中是宾语。 注:4.
人称代词中的:She(她) he (他) it (它)是第三人称单数形式。当它们在句中作主语时一定要注意与动词一致。也就是说动词要用is。

本单元中除了出现人称代词的主格宾格形式之外,还出现了物主代词的用法,为下一步学习打下了基础。物主代词也分两种形式:
形容词性的:my(我的) your(你的) her(她的) his(他的) its(它的) 名词性的:mine(我的) yours(你的) hers(她的) his(他的) its(它的)
our(我们的) your(你们的) their(他们的 )
ours(我们的) yours(你们的) theirs(他们的)
如果从中文角度看没有区别,但在英文句子中的用法大不相同。这里只讲形容词性的物主代词用法。它相当一个形容词,修饰后面的名词,请参考下列各句回答形式:
你叫什么名字? 我叫学雷
他叫什么名字。 他叫王海

注意:在中文翻译时,可以不将“的”翻译出来,但在英语句子中,此处必须用形容词性的物主代词。

1)在打电话的开始一般用Hello!这个词,后面的电话号码也可以不说。
2)在表达我是某某人时应该用This is××。或者:This is ××speaking.而不说: I am××.
3.如果询问某某人是否在家时应该说:Is××in ?或者说:May I speak to×× ?
4.表示某人不在家里时可以说××is not at home.或者说:××is out (出去了)
注意:sb is in表示在家。 sb is at home也表示某人在家。但用in时不加home,用
at
时,一定加home这个词。
由上面这组对话我们可以看出,中、英文在表达上有很大差距,在今后的英语学习中不能完全一对一的翻译,重要的是学会英文的地道表达法。
