Life is tough, but we should be tougher. To be tougher, humor is the most effective weapon. Let’s take the school canteen for example.

We are students, most of us have to eat in the school canteen. We always complain that the food is too terrible and it is too crowded at mealtimes. We can’t change it, so we often play jokes there.

One day, we went to the school canteen for lunch. As seeing too many people there, I told my friend,“The school canteen is our real friend, it helps us keep slim by two weapons—the food and the sport.” The “sport” meant we have to cut through the crowed and elbow our way through the crowd. She laughed and said,“There are many types of dishes, why do the students still complain? I know the reason. Let me show you.”

She went to the food-provided window and waited in line. When it was her turn, she said to the waitress,“Potato silk, and potato chips, please.” Soon the waitress brought up the two dishes without hesitation. I burst into laughter. “ Potato silk” and “potato chips”, they sound like two dishes, but in our canteen, their tastes are the same. Humor can improve physical as well as mental well-being.It helps us bear our burdens,lessen our tension,overcome our frustration.With a piece of joke,all our worries and sadness disappear like smoke,and we are full of vigor once again.
