Have you ever thought about the life with robots in the next 50 or 100 years?

We can imagine that all the housework, including washing dishes and cleaning the windows and many kinds of things like this, will be done easily and automatically. It is just because we have robots. As long as they are at home, we will not need to go shopping and cooking by ourselves any more.If any family member get ill, we can still stay in our apartment. Because the robot is the doctor.

Yes, robots may be everything except humans in the future.

篇三:robot english work

Since the dawn[d?:n]产生 of human ingenuity[?nd?i'njuiti]智慧, people have devised[di?vaiz]设计 ever more cunning[?k?ni?]精巧的 tools to cope[k?up]应付 with work that is dangerous, boring, burdensome[?b?:dns?m]繁重的, or just plain nasty. That compulsion[k?m?p?l??n]动力 has resulted in robotics—the science of conferring[k?n?f?:]赋予 various[?v??ri?s] human capabilities[?ke?p??b?l?ti:]能力 on machines. And if scientists have yet to create the mechanical[mi?k?nik?l]机械的 version of science fiction, they have begun to come close.

As a result, the modern world is increasingly populated[?p?pj??le?t]生活于 by intelligent gizmos[?g?zm??]小发明 whose presence we barely notice but whose universal existence has removed much human labor. Our factories hum to the rhythm[?rie?m]节奏,规律 of robot assembly[??sembli]装配 arms. Our banking is done at automated[??:t??me?t]使自动操作 teller terminals[?t?:min?l]完成 that thank us with mechanical politeness for the transaction[tr?n?z?k??n]交易. Our subway trains are controlled by tireless

And thanks to the continual[k?n?tinju?l]不间断的 miniaturization[?m?n?t??ra??ze??n]缩形技术 of electronics[ilek?tr?niks]电子学 and micro-mechanics, there are already robot systems that can perform some kinds of brain and bone surgery[?s?:d??ri] with submillimeter亚毫米 accuracy[??kjur?si]准确性—far greater precision[pri?si??n]精确度 than highly skilled physicians[fi?zi??n]医生 can achieve with their hands alone.

But if robots are to reach the next stage of laborsaving[?le?b??se?v??]节省劳力的 utility[ju?tiliti]效用, they will have to operate with less human supervision[?sju:p??v???n]监督 and be able to make at least a few decisions for themselves—goals that pose[p?uz]提出 a real challenge. “While we know how to tell a robot to handle a specific error,” says Dave Lavery, manager of a robotics program at NASA, “we can't yet give a robot enough ?common sense? to reliably[r??la??bl?]可靠地 interact[??nt?r??kt]交流 with a dynamic[dai?n?mik]不断变化的 world.”

Indeed the quest for true artificial intelligence has produced very mixed results. Despite a spell of initial[i?ni??l]最初的 optimism[??ptimiz?m]乐观 in the 1960s and 1970s when it appeared that transistor circuits and microprocessors might be able to copy the action of the human brain by the year 2010, researchers lately have begun to extend that forecast by decades if not centuries.

What they found, in attempting to model thought, is that the human brain's roughly one hundred billion nerve cells are much more talented—and human perception far more complicated—than previously imagined. They have built robots that can recognize the error of a machine panel by a fraction of a millimeter in a controlled factory environment. But the hum

an mind can glimpse

a rapidly changing scene and immediately disregard the 98 percent that is irrelevant, instantaneously focusing on the monkey at the side of a winding forest road or the single suspicious face in a big crowd. The most advanced computer systems on Earth can't approach that kind of ability, and neuroscientists still don't know quite how we do it.

From the cartoons given above, we can see that the cow is explaining to the little baby that it is not her fault for giving the poisoned power milk/the keeper is feeding the pig with Clenbuterol (瘦肉精).The cartoon wisely reflects the food safety issues (食品安全问题) which occur in recent years. Food safety related to people’s health and it concerns about people’s basic livelihood. Since the Sanlu Incident occurred in 2008, the entire society was increasingly concerned about food safety issue. It was in this context that the food safety issue has been referred to an

unprecedented height.

Problems leading to food safety are as follows: 1) using poor quality raw materials in the food manufacturing process; 2) adding toxic substances(有毒物质); 3)

excessive use of food additives(食品添加剂); 4) abusing of chemical additives and so on. There are many reasons that cause this problem. It is regulators, producers, and even consumers who share the responsibilities.

As Confucius instructed: better late than never. Prompt and strict measures should be taken to turn back (扭转)this evil trend. The government should launch a

massive moral campaign to educate all citizens and draw up(制定) tougher laws to crack down on those irresponsible corporations and prohibit them from entering the food industry again. I am firmly convinced that through our combined efforts we are bound to enjoy more risk-free foods in the days ahead.

The Terminator myth:why military

robots aren’t human-shaped。
