一般说来，外语教学的实施有五大主要过程：需求浅析、课程设计、教材开发、课堂教学、课程评估，其中课堂教学无疑是最为重要的。然而如今外语课堂教学的革新还仅局限于局部的变化：单词讲解——课文讲解——课后习题“三部曲”的教学方式始终沿用，即使借助现代化多媒体等技术手段来教学，也只是把黑板换成屏幕而已。此种授课方式，不但无法达到预期的教学效果，而且很容易造成学生的学习惰性，不利于学生自主学习习惯的培养。因此理想中的大学英语课堂教学应该是以培养学生学习兴趣，发挥学生自主学习能力，集文化传授和道德教育于一体的教学模式。

英语课堂教学革新学习兴趣自主学习为适应我国高等教育进展的新形势的要求，深化教学革新，提高教学质量，教育部于2007年正式颁布了《大学英语课程教学要求》，对大学英语的教学性质和目标做出了明确规定：“大学英语教学是高等教育的一个有机组成部分，是大学生的一门必修的基础课程，其教学目标是培养学生的英语综合运用能力，特别是听说能力，同时增强其自主学习能力，提高综合文化素养，以适应我国社会进展和国际交流的需要。”因此，理想中的大学英语课堂教学应该实现以下主要功能。

一、强化学生学习动机，培养学生学习兴趣

常言道“兴趣是最好的老师”。学生喜欢外语，一方面，可能是对外语本身或外国文化感兴趣，另一方面，可能是对外语作为一门升学、就业的重要评价标准的课程的重视。前者被称为“融合性动机”，后者被称为“工具性动机”。大学英语课堂教学的一个重要目标是不断激发和保持学生学习外语的兴趣，同时尽可能地帮助学生将学习外语的工具性动机转化为融合性动机，即对英语及英语文化本身感兴趣。因为只有这样的兴趣才更持久，更容易激发学生自主学习的热情。因此大学英语课堂教学可以通过以下几点来达到激发和保持学生学习兴趣的目的。

1.教师的个人魅力。有很大一部分学生会因为喜欢一位教师，进而喜欢他所教的课程。教师的专业水平、知识能力以及他的语言艺术、行为举止，都会在很大程度上影响到他的学生。因此对每一位教师来说，最成功的教育莫过于发挥自身的榜样作用，激发学生的学习兴趣，最终达到培养学生自主学习能力的目的。

2.丰富多彩的课堂活动。新颖有效的教学活动可以活跃课堂气氛，激发学生参与语言实践的热情。所以教师应该在充分了解学生的需求和兴趣的基础上，结合阶段性教学目标以及大学英语课本的内容来计划和安排课堂活动，力争使学生们在愉快、轻松、自然的语言环境中学习英语，掌握英语。

3.学习的成功体验。不断让学生体验到自己的进步和学习的收获，也能增强学生的学习兴趣和学习信心，进而形成一种良性循环。这种成就感对英语学习上有困难的学生尤为重要。教师应该在课堂上积极创造机会，如课前演讲、小组竞赛、团队表演等，让学生有机会展示自己的学习成果，同时建立一个全面合理的评估机制，及时反馈学生的进步，鼓励学生不断进取。

二、创造语言学习环境，提供丰富的学习资源

传统大学英语课堂教学的基本方式就是所谓的PPP方式，即讲解（Presentation）、练习（Practice）、输出（Production）。然而这种教学方式的弊端显而易见：课堂上教师首先考虑的是在有限的时间内尽量多的讲授些语言知识，因此学生缺乏练习的机会。如此以来，学生对语言学习的本质产生了误解，认为学习英语就是一个学习语言知识、记忆语言规则的过程。这实际上也是造成一些学生外语学习高分低能的一个重要理由。

“Language is not taught，but learned.”运用语言学家指出：“我们实际上不能教会学生一门语言，我们只能为他们创造一个适合外语学习的环境。”因此，教师在课堂上要实现传统的角色的改变，用英语与学生进行真实的交际活动，才是学生最重要的语言学习实践。而且这种真实的交际活动不应仅限于教学活动的组织、语言技能的操练和语言任务的完成，而更要注重用英语与学生进行思想的交流和信息的沟通。除此之外英语课堂教学还要为课外学习做适当的准备，包括提供丰富的学习资源和良好的学习条件，例如外语图书、报刊、广播、影视、网络、自主学习中心等。

三、文化的传授，道德的教育

我们都知道语言是文化的载体，因此在语言课堂上讲授文化知识至少有三个目的：让学生(来自:WWw.SmhaiDa.com 海达范文网:理想中的大学英语作文)熟悉不同文化之间的差别；帮助学生跳出自身文化的圈子，以目标文化的角度考虑自身的不足；通过不同形式的课堂练习，向学生强调理解语言和理解文化的不可分离性。例如，教师在课堂上对西方文化的介绍，要有计划、有选择地向学生讲解中西深层的文化和思维差别，促使学生利用更加得体，更加地道的英语进行交际，而不至于因为误读对方产生所谓的“文化休克，文化冲击”。因此跨文化交际是大学英语教学的主要内容之一，在英语课堂教学中教师要让学生明白，不同文化只有差别，没有优劣之分。我们了解外国文化的目的是为了更好地认识本民族的文化，并在对外交流的过程中致力于传播、弘扬祖国的传统文化。

四、指导语言学习对策，培养自主学习能力

成功的外语学习者往往都是成功的学习对策使用者，因为他们是积极的语言实践者和运用者，对语言使用有着强烈的愿望，并且能创造性地学习。实验证明，通过学习对策的培训，学生，尤其是原来外语基础不太好的学生，能有效地改善学习策略，提高学习质量。因此，帮助学生了解并使用符合个人特点的学习对策，培养学生良好的学习习惯，应该是大学英语课堂教学的一个重要任务。其实每个学生都是具有独立人格、主观能动性的个体，都蕴藏着独立学习的潜能，教育要以学生的进展为本，突出学生的主体地位。从根本目标看，现代教育就是要培

养学生终身学习的能力。当今世界各国的教育也都强调以对学生学到的能力（learned

abilities）到注重学生学习的能力（learning abilities）的评价。所以说学校教育的目的是培养学生自主学习的意识和能力，这也是衡量大学英语课堂教学的最高标准。

五、结语

在当代大学英语教学中，理想中的英语课堂教学方式的改变不仅仅是教学策略和教学手段的变化，更是教学理念的转变。我们只有改变以往以教师为中心，单纯传授语言知识和技能的课堂教学模式，实现以学生为中心，既传授语言知识与技能，又注重培养学生的语言实际应用能力和自主学习能力，真正实现大学英语教学的最高目的：激发学生自主学习热情，培养学生终身学习能力，提高学生英语综合应用能力。
