Enjoying A Wonderful Painting

The amazing painting named “Christina’s World” was drawn by Andrew Wyeth in 1948. In the painting, I can see a young girl lying comfortably on the autumn-golden grassland. And she is looking at something not so far away in front of her. The feeling conveyed by the whole painting is really so peaceful, so beautiful, and so on.

The first thing I noticed when I saw the painting is the girl, the young and also maybe beautiful girl, who is lying on the grassland, leaving her back to us. In my opinion, she is the soul of the whole painting, and the whole environment is designed by the artist to fit with the main character. Besides, the girl lying without her face showing to us also successfully leaves full imagination for the reader to imagine whether the girl is beautiful and what is the expression on her face right then.

Then, I was attracted by the picture because the girl’s special gesture of rising half of her body and looking forward. I guess she might be thinking about something or somebody and eager for some special thing, for example, love or the unknown world outside of her village. I think this scene is the artist’s unique creation in order to show the young girl’s character and the common feature of the girl at this age. It is so wonderful that all the things painted in the picture help express the idea.

At last, my appreciation for the painting is the atmosphere conveyed by all the objects painted, such as the sky, the golden grassland, the houses, and also the character. Although they are different items, they are all painted very beautifully signally and cooperate very well with each other in create the whole atmosphere.

Above all, I suppose the painting “Christina’s World” drawn by Andrew Wyeth is

very beautiful and successful, and I appreciate it very much. It is not only drawn skillfully, but also drawn with deep meaning expressed in it. The whole painting makes me feel harmony, peaceful, and silent. It is really a wonderful art work for us to enjoy!
