This paper involves many people’s efforts and assistance. Firstly I should give great thinks to my dear teachers, Miss Ju and Miss Xie，because the paper is completed under the help as well as other classmates. They have profound professional knowledge, excellent teaching attitude and working styles. From the beginning to the end of my writing of the thesis, especially, it was Miss Xie read through it and found some mistakes and also gave some useful suggestions. Abstract

Pride and Prejudice, a most popular full-length novel, is one of Jane Austen's representative works. There are altogether four papers of marriage in the novel, epitomizing the status of love and marriage in that society. The author described the four different kinds of marriage to show her viewpoints on love and marriage: that is marrying for money and marrying rashly is not proper, right marriage should depend on love. She was good at modeling personage from daily trifles, from the affirmative roles (Darcy and Elizabeth) to the insinuative roles (Collins and Wickham), all of them are lively in her novel. She made the dialogues between roles very humorous and sarcastic and this artistic creation formed her own writing style.

《傲慢与偏见》是奥斯汀的代表作,也是她作品中最受欢迎的一部长篇小说其中的四段婚姻基本完全概括了当时社会中爱情和婚姻的状况,通过对四种不同婚姻和爱情的描写,解析和探讨,充分体现了作者的爱情和婚姻观,既反对为钱而结婚,也反对轻率结婚,强调婚姻中感情因素的重要性。作者善于在日常平凡事物中塑造鲜明的人物形象,不论是伊丽莎白达西那种作者认为值得肯定的人物,还是魏克翰姆、柯林斯这类遭到讽刺挖苦的对象,都写得真实动人,她在对话艺术上讲究幽默、讽刺,常以风趣诙谐的语言来烘托人物的性格特征.这种艺术创新使她的作品具有自己的特色。
