All my cargo of the stories of old wars为什么会被翻译成“我满载的一切古代战争的货物”呢?不是应该翻译成“我所有的关于古代战争故事的货物”类似的意思才对吗?冰心先生是漏翻译了the stories of的词,还是说为了押韵或者其它原因才没有这么去做?

冰心先生的处理：“我满载的一切古代战争的货物” 以今人看来,省略了”故事“这个词,很容易就让人产生歧义“满载战争的货物”,战争怎么会有货物呢,逻辑上说不过去.
如果是处理的话：可以这么考虑：“我满载的一切古代战争的故事” 这样比较妥当.
理由：1."满载"在日常用语中,常用于车,船,飞机等运输工具,这些工具载运的,自然就是指“货物“即”故事“了.因此货物不用翻译出来.
2.把故事翻译出来,着重强调满载的货物的虚拟性；忠实于原文所说的stories of old wars 的意思.故事为无形的东西,载故事的工具也可以是无形的比拟,逻辑上就可以成立.
3.”故事“与”货物“二者的重要性,从忠实于原文意思的角度看,我个人认为强调”故事“更重要一些.
综上所述理由,个人认为冰心先生的翻译可能不那么妥当.虽然冰心先生是权威,但唯权威是从,这并不科学,也不是做学问的态度,对吧.
