I was deeply touched and benefited a lot from the story. As we all know, life is full of ups and downs. We can’t avoid being exposed to various setbacks, frustrations and even failures on our long journey of life. Undoubtedly, keeping a cheerful attitude towards life plays a vital role, which contributes a lot to the solution of the problems. On the contrary, being passive will only make things worse.

To learn more about students’ reading habits, a survey has been conducted among 2,000 middle school students recently and the results are as follows. About 37 % of the students read fewer than 5 books per year. With regard to reading material, junior students are in favor of cartoon magazines and joke books while senior students prefer popular novels, classic works and science fictions. As for why students read so little, some junior students said they showed no interest in reading whereas some of the senior students complained that they couldn’t afford the time due to the enormous homework. From the survey, we can draw a conclusion that students should be encouraged to read more and be given more time to read after class.
