IQ is intelligence quotient. It is that ability to understand objective things and use knowledge to solve practical problems. EQ is Emotional Intelligence. It mainly refers to the quality of the people in the mood, emotion, will, tolerance of frustration. Generally speaking, the EQ is no obvious innate differences between people, more closely related to nurture. Emotional intelligence consists of five main areas: self-knowledge, self-management, identifying others' emotions, self-motivation, dealing with interpersonal relationships. The level of emotional intelligence cannot be accurately expressed by testing, while the IQ can. It can only be judged according to the overall performance of the individual.

First of all, the intelligence quotient (IQ) plays a decisive influence on a person's life. We take the pains to learn all kinds of courses since childhood. Through the rigorous entrance examination for secondary school and college as well as postgraduate, we finally obtain the ideal degree and manage to knock on the door of a company. However, that may not be all. In order to increase our chances of successful interview we may need to get other qualifications and professional competence

credentials, such as CET-4, CET-6, the National Computer Rank Examination certificate, the Certified Public Accountants and so on. It is a very common phenomenon if you didn't pass the CET-6 or did not reach a certain score, you may miss the chance to be a good job. Needless to say, the importance of the intelligence quotient is obvious.

Second, people with high IQ are more likely to succeed than those with only high emotional intelligence. A great man is not very good at talking, but they all have high IQ, rich, solid and profound knowledge base at all times and in all countries. If Madame Curie didn’t have a Paris university physics, mathematics learning experience, she couldn’t become the discoverer of radium.

Third, IQ is the source and foundation of eq. The level of the emotional intelligence depends largely on the cultivation of nurture, it grows with age and knowledge. Only when the knowledge what we have occupied reached a certain degree, we can realize we should be strong and confident, should control our emotions. It's hard to say to a starving baby "you should have strong!", but we can teach him to shout "mama!" 智商，即人的智力发展水平，通常用智力商数来表示，英文简称为IQ。智商反映了一个人的观察力、记忆力、思维力、想象力、创造力等。

情商，即认识管理自己情绪和处理人际关系的能力，通常用情绪商数来表示，英文简称为EQ。情商涵盖了一个人的自制力、热情、毅力、自我驱动力等。

智商是前提，情商是保证，两者的关系相辅相成，缺一不可；两者相比，情商比智商更为重要。

(EQ)又称情绪智力，是近年来心理学家们提出的与智力和智商相对应的概念。它主要是指人在情绪、情感、意志、耐受挫折等方面的品质。以往认为，一个人能否在一生中取得成就，智力水平是第一重要的，即智商越高，取得成就的可能性就越大。但现在心理学家们普遍认为，情商水平的高低对一个人能否取得成功也有着重大的影响作用，有时其作用甚至要超过智力水平。

心理学家认为，情商包括以下几个方面的内容：一是认识自身的情绪。因为只有认识自己，才能成为自己生活的主宰。二是能妥善管理自己的情绪。即能调控自己；三是自我激励，它能够使人走出生命中的低潮，重新出发。四是认知他人的情绪。这是与他人正常交往，实现顺利沟通的基础；五是人际关系的管理。即领导和管理能力。 情商的水平不像智力水平那样可用测验分数较准确地表示出来，它只能根据个人的综合表现进行判断。心理学家们还认为，情商水平高的人具有如下的特点：社交能力强，外向而愉快，不易陷入恐惧或伤感，对事业较投入，为人正直，富于同情心，情感生活较丰富但不逾矩，无论是独处还是与许多人在一起时都能怡然自得。专家们还认为，一个人是否具有较高的情商，和童年时期的教育培养有着密切的关系。因此，培养情商应从小开始。

智商高的人适合从事科学研究；情商高的人适合从事经商或从政。仔细比较对照一下生活中的人好象是这么回事。

纵观古今，大凡成就一番事业者，不但智商高人一筹，而且情商也超乎寻常。情商不仅影响个人的健康、情感、人际关系等，而且可以让智商发挥更大的效应。著名心理学家戈尔曼认为，在人成功的要素中，智力因素是重要的，但更为重要的是情感因素，前者占20%，后者占80%。明白了这一点，我们就能够冷静地分析古往今来大多数

因此，想成大事者，在才智过人的同时，砺炼情智显得非常重要。都是告诫世人要砺炼情商，要有较好的自我抑制力、驱动力。惟有如此，才能顺应时代和潮流，成为有用之才，成为时代的佼佼者。 目前人类的大脑开发了多少？ 一个具有博士水平的人，他的大脑智力开发在他的潜力里面占了多少百分比？

人类的大脑潜能巨大，很多心理学家认为，人的大脑只使用了3%，也有人认为使用了5%，还有人认为使用了9%，但有一点已达成共识，人类大脑90%以上都是处于休眠状态。到目前为止爱因斯坦被认为是世界上聪明绝顶的人。爱因斯坦死了以后，科学家对他的大脑进行了解剖，发现他的大脑是目前世界使用最多的人。但也只使用了1/3，2/3仍处于休眠状态。

也有的专家认为，人类潜在智商都有2000，但现代人一般是49到152的智商，一个人智商若在140以上，便可被称为天才。可是离潜在的2000智商的1/10都不到。那么这就是说我们每个人一出生都有潜在的2000智商，但是由于科学与教育发展所限。使人类大脑潜能无法充分发挥出来。所以，一直到人死去之时，大脑90%的潜能仍然在睡觉。

在人们对智商和情商研究中，得到两个数字，一个人的成功，智商占20%，情商占80%。智商与情商巨大的差别，给人们一个印象，既然情商那么重要，我们就专门培养情商。而事实上，真正成功的人，他们又是智商和情商结合的典范，这又是为什么？单纯的高智商不一定成功，单纯的高情商也不一定成功，但是高情商和高智商的结合一定成功，这又是什么道理呢？

作为智商天才的比尔盖茨情商也很高，而且他是把情商和智商很好的结合起来。比如，他的情商高很重要的表现在他重视人，他重视人的作用。有人问比尔盖茨，盖茨先生，如果你离开你现在的微软公司，你能再造一个微软公司吗？比尔盖茨说能，但是有一个条件，我要带走我们公司一百个人。他没有说我要带走厂房，我要带走机器，我要带走设备，我要带走好多好多电脑，他没有带走这些物，他要带走高层次的人。可见他重视人的作用，不是见物不见人，这就是高情商。

比尔.克林顿，人称情商奇才。克林顿小学的时候就一直品学兼优，同时他情感也非常丰富，他勤奋好学，他兴趣广泛，他思想活跃，他力求拔尖，在学习中他一直处于争强好胜的，积极进取的兴奋状态。 比尔盖茨，比尔克林顿是两个特别典型的人物，他们两个人智商、情商都很高，在他们身上把智商、情商结合得非常好。其实在我们中国有许多科学家，有许多党政领导，企业家，教育家，电视电影明星还有我们一线的一些老师，智商情商也都比较高，而且把智商情商结合起来了，他们从事的工作成功生活成功，家庭成功，事业成功。各位朋友，我们通过上面的案例，这种比较这种分析我们得到什么启示，我认为有以下几个启示：

第一，智商情商不是对立不是相反的。情商并不是智商的反义词，不能说我智商高，情商就低，情商高智商就低，不是对立的，不是反义的。事实上，他们二者存在相关性，像智商特别特别低的人或者情商特别特别低的人，在生活中是很少见的。

我们得到的第二个启示，不能单方面的夸大，你说智商重要，我就夸大智商，你说情商重要，我就单方面的夸大情商。

我们得到的第三个启示是，智商情商他们两个是密切相关的。他们紧密联系甚至是相互渗透的，有不少因素是重叠的。

我们得出的第四个启示，要辩证的看待他们两个的结合。比如从事营销和公关工作的人，情商要比智商高一点才行。从事领导工作的，特别是中高级领导工作的，智商情商都应该高一些。而政治家情商应该特别的高，科学家，特别是研究基础科学和基础理论科学的，就不一定要他有很高情商。

有一句话叫做360行行行出状元，主要是要干自己最适合的最有兴趣的那一行，把你自身情商和你最有兴趣，最适合的这行结合起来才有可能出状元。这就要求我们根据自己的情商智商来设计好调整好自己的职业生涯。

一个人情商高，他的目标远大，他的人际关系好，他善于合作，他心情舒畅，这个结果对开发智商有促进作用的。一个人智商高，他知识广，他受到人们的尊敬，对于他找到很好的办法进行合作，控制自己的情绪，对于他处理好人际关系保持强大的情感分寸，对于他开发情商潜能也是大有益处的。

智商虽然是成功的极其重要的因素，但是影响一个人一生的，更多的还是你的性格，你的世界观，你的价值观，你的耐心，你的信心，你的毅力，你的情绪，你的情感，这些品质。

有的人虽然很聪明，但是性格孤僻，怪异，不合群，不宜合作。有的自卑脆弱不能面对挫折，有的急躁，固执，自负，情绪不稳定，有的冷漠，易怒，神经质，与周围的人很难沟通。特别是有的以我为中心，不关爱关心他人。有的专家，有的哪怕是大专家的人，智商特别高，做课题也可能是一把好手，也有名气。但是他们与人合作方面不尽人意，对人苛刻挑剔，不能宽容人，人们对这个大专家只能敬而远之，到后来成为孤家寡人，带科研团队也不会成功。也有不少人，智力虽然不太出众，也不是太聪明，甚至大家认为他可能还是低智商的，但后来却干成了大事业，取得了大成功。

美国有位记者后来改行做企业管理，有一次他在同学会上就发现一个奇怪的现象，当时班上读书成绩平平的，反而都获得了成功，而当时成绩好的，智商高的，后来有不少人到了社会后，反而成就平平。那么其他的班是不是也会这样？他也了解了其他班级，几乎也是如此，于是他就得出一个结论，在一个人成就成功之中，智商只占20％。那还有80％是什么呢？是情商，是情绪、情感。情商是人成功的一个特别重要的因素。也就是说智商太高，智商再高，情商不高不一定能成功，不一定能持续成功。而智商不太高，情商比较高，反而可能成功。

于是，人们越来越认为情商对成功和取胜超过了智商。于是，那个找80％的人找啊找啊，找到了，智商占成功的20％，情商占成功的80％。就是这个写《情绪智力》这个人，叫戈尔曼。他指出，真正决定一个人是否成功的关键是情商能力而不是智商能力。所以，有
