伯诺德夫人：“对不起，各位先生们，瞧，这灯亮些。”（把那个蜡烛熄灭了）

中尉乙：“把那蜡烛也点起来吧。”

杰克：“先生们，我能去柴房抱一捆柴火来吗？”（说着，把那快燃烧到金属丝的蜡烛拿了起来）

中尉乙：“难道不用蜡烛就不行吗？”（粗暴的用枪指着杰克）

中尉甲：“夫人，您应该相信您的儿子。”

伯诺德夫人：“先生们，柴房里很黑。”

中尉甲（厉声）：“不要再说了，您的儿子应该能应付那了如指掌的柴房。”

杰奎琳：“少校先生，我真困，我能拿一盏灯上楼睡觉吗？”

少校：“可以，我的小天使，我也有一个你这么大的女儿。”

杰奎琳：“我想她一定很想您.。”（打了个哈欠）“晚安，妈妈，晚安各位先生。”
