Reading benefits us in many ways.

First of all, different books give us different knowledge and promote us to grow comprehensively. Histories make us wise;

natural philosophy deep;

moral grave;

logic and rhetoric able to contend. Some theoretical knowledge make us erudite, while other pragmatic knowledge give guides to our choice and decision. On the contrary, if we do not read any books, we will be ignorant and aimless. As a result, we will lose our courage, confidence and faith in our life and future.

Second, as for our postgraduates, reading professional classics not only can strengthen our professional foundations, but also can broaden our view in our major, thus making more valuable progress in our study. Apart from this, reading other classics which we are interested in also can enrich our minds and lives.

Third, reading is important to our nation and country. On the one hand, we read books to inherit our fine traditional Chinese

Take a simple example, when a reader tries to understand the words more accurately, the words will force him to use more his own ideality. And gradually, he will obtain a better imagination and thinking capacity than anyone else. When a man possesses those abilities, it will give him infinite chance. So, we can also consider that reading is a more suitable way of learning, and laid a foundation of practicing.

The last but not least, it could be a much better way of relaxing instead of many meaningless activities which may lead people become a time-killer. Combining with the two advantages I’ve mentioned above, I could say that instead of being exhausted by playing boring games, I’d rather to be a girl with rich spirit.
