网路工作者的美丽新世界.网路的出现,使得传统经济学的理论被翻转,土地、资本、廉价的劳力不再是获利的基础,有些人竟然可以在虚拟的网路世界中靠资讯、知识等,过去不被认为具有最高价值的「服务」而致富.有人认为20世纪末产生的新经济是一场革命,但是这场革命会把大家带到那里去,到现场还是没有人知道明确的答案.网路工作者在其中,必须透过不断地摸索、尝试、错误、思考、突破创新,来获得最接近正确的答案.MP3网路音乐网路使用者的最爱,唱片公司最大的梦魇.透过网路压缩的技术,让原本占很大空间的声音档,可以缩小,不过,只要透过解压缩的程式,就可以透过网路来交换各种音乐,不论是国语流行歌曲、台语歌、英文歌、老歌、新歌,甚至古典音乐,都可以自由下载,不限次数地聆听.根据公元2000年台湾的研究结果,发现使用MP3听音乐的网路使用者,平均在自己电脑的硬碟内平均存有100首以上的歌曲,而这还不包含透过Napster来交换的结果.所以,经营唱片公司越来越困难,是可想而知的事情.因此,有些大型唱片公司干脆自己开始经营MP3网站,还培养了一群只灌录MP3歌曲的歌手,要听他们的歌,只能上网付费下载.不过,对於专业音乐工作者来说,MP3的音质过於「数位化」,以致於失去了自然音质中的柔软与温暖.
