Dear Mom and Dad,
There is always something I can not tell over the phone calls.The best I can say is that everything is going on okay with me.Not to cheat or to hide the truth from you,it is only because I am far away from you and I know even a little problem will make my dear parents worry about me a lot.
I have to admit living overseas by myself is not a small challenge.One year later after I left my hometown,it is still hard to say whether I am used to this new environment or not.Things happened all the time.I don't remember how many times people laugh at me,as I look stupid by standing there doing nothing.I can't tell how many times I felt so embarrassed because of the language barrier.It sounds like I am talking nonsense.I will never forget those Americans kindly looking at me and smiling.Their faces clearly show that they don't understand my accent.There is no way I can complain about that,even if I was so hurt that I could not help crying every night when I was alone.Until now I realized that I was so spoiled.I had such a happy life under parents' protection.
However,my beloved parents,please do not worry about me.I believe I have already gone through the toughest stage and life is getting better ever since.I also have to thank this precious experience of studying abroad.Without it,I would never learn how to take care of myself,how to arrange time between study and work,and how to handle problems.Furthermore,after I left home,I finally understand that my parents are the ones who care about me the most.Now matter where I am,they always try to help me without asking returns.I have a feeling that their endless love is the key to encourage me to face all kinds of difficulties.I would not be afraid to take on any challenges,as I know my parents are always there to support me.
