For its superiority of performance on mechanics, thermology and electrology, carbon nanotube has been applied in these fields, as well as in hydrogen storage. Along with its application, the limitation in hydrogen storage has posed an imperative issue to be solved. The article summarizes the hydrogen storage function of carbon nanotube from the recent years' research results under different conditions, which indicate that hydrogen storage is a result of absorption, yet whether it is physical absorption or chemical absorption is still in dispute. Meanwhile, the article analyses the test methods for hydrogen storage, and performance difference by experimental equipment, and concludes that to this date the test methods and facilities are still incomplete, which have affected the presicion of test results in different levels. Now the direction and emphasis of carbon nanotube is the performance of hydrogen storage, and to establish a uniform test standard and method at the meantime, so as to improve the precision of experiment results.
