With the development of global economic,communicate with people who are living in every corner of the world palace a very important part in social life.A current language is needed urgently.At this time,English comes to our life.There is no doubt that English certainly did a good job in our routine.People all over the world could have wonderful and fluent communication with the help of English.But,at the same time,we should notice that a lot of kinds of language are disappearing.Especially in those areas which those people who are living poor life.According to Unesco a language dies every two weeks.By the end of this century half of the world’s spoken languages – 6,912 according to Ethnologue – will disappear.The more pessimistic forecasts say 90 per cent.
Languages die when they are no longer spoken.This happens for various reasons.First of all when those who speak the language die because of natural disasters or genocide.When Europeans eradicated the inhabitants of Tasmania,in the nineteenth century,many languages died with them.Just like,within two hundred years from the arrival of the Europeans in America,many,many languages died together with 90 percent of the indigenous population killed by diseases imported by the colonizers.But in nowadays,the most important reason why a lot of language disappear is economic.
The market is now global,with communities that have become like the stronger ones.It’s the end of geographic isolation.Urbanization and globalization create a scene made of global languages for global markets and dominant cultural models,to which new generations aspire and adapt,often preferring to abandon their origins,from cultural to linguistic identity,because that model is perceived as better.

A phenomenon can be seen that more and more people are learning one or two foreign language. Of course, it’s a good way to learn a different culture, and it is also a good way to inherit a culture. On the contrary, we should find out that the languages we are choosing are those place a essential part in business life, Such as French, Spanish, and German and so on. Yes! Of course, we need those kind of experts. But that’s enough?
We study those kinds of language because the countries which use these kinds of language are powerful. We study those kinds of language because we can hurt a amazing job with the help of them. But, that’s our modern human being’s only goal?
Every language is precious however many men and women speak it. With every language that disappears ways of living, thinking, perceiving the world and stories disappear too.
A society that is tolerant, united and democratic must safeguard diversity – biological, cultural, linguistic – and the social identity and dignity of everyone associated with it. Global civilization could never be anything other than the coalition at global levels of cultures, each of them retaining its originality. The loss of languages is not only a crisis for many communities, but also presents a major challenge for researchers intent on analyzing the structure of languages and how they convey meaning.
Now, a question is coming to us, what is unity and what is diversity?
My answer is that only when we keep diversity can we have unity.
