Enhancement outcomes
Enhancement outcomes enhance the organization’s existing risk management capabilities and help push the organization closer to realizing the EWRM value proposition of creating and protecting enterprise value.There are three categories of enhancement outcomes:
(1) quantifying risks enterprise-wide;
(2) improving enterprise performance; and
(3) establishing sustainable competitive advantage.
These outcomes are more sophisticated and advanced,and the state-of-the-art is constantly evolving.The capabilities that deliver these outcomes are seen as invaluable for allocating
capital and measuring performance based on the risks inherent in a business or portfolio.They enhance established process outcomes by strengthening the link between risk and established risk thresholds,risk and business performance,and risk and strategic opportunity.They enable managers to better optimize risk,return and capital.The framework presented in Figure 1 summarizes the eight categories of outcomes discussed above.
There are many examples of outcomes in each of these categories.For example,==adopt common language’’ includes several possible outcomes,including a risk model,a risk management glossary,a process classification scheme and other relevant frameworks.These outcomes are not intended to be all-inclusive; there are other outcomes.Space does not permit us to detail every possible outcome for each of the categories.
Once the outcomes are identified,management defines the capabilities needed to produce them.An ==outcome’’ is made possible through the use of processes,people,reports,methodologies,technology,or a combination thereof,integrated within the EWRM solution.Because companies have different objectives,strategies,structure,culture,risk appetite and financial wherewithal,no two EWRM solutions are alike.Therefore,the various outcomes defining the solution for one company may differ from another company.

Enhancement outcomes enhance the organization’s existing risk management capabilities and help push the organization closer to realizing the EWRM value proposition of creating and protecting enterprise value.There are three categories of enhancement outcomes:
