聚碳酸酯,又称为PC塑料,化学名为2,2 ‘-双(4-羟基苯基)丙烷聚碳酸酯,英文名称Polyearbonate.物料性能:比重:1.18~1.20克/立方厘米,成型收缩率0.5%~0.8%,成型温度230~320~C,干燥条件1 10~120~C 8小时.冲击强度高,尺寸稳定性好,无色透明,着色性好,电绝缘性、耐腐蚀性、耐磨性好,但自润滑性差,有应力开裂倾向,高温易水解,与其它树脂相溶性差.适于制作仪表小零件、绝缘透明件和耐冲击零件等.成型性能:①无定形料,热稳定性好,成型温度范围宽,流动性差.吸湿小,但对水敏感,须经干燥处理.成型收缩率小,易发生熔融开裂和应力集中,故应严格控制成型条件,塑件须经退火处理.②熔融温度高,粘度高.大于200g的塑件,宜用加热式的延伸喷嘴.③冷却速度快,模具浇注系统以粗、短为原则,宜设冷料井,浇口宜取大,模具宜加热.④料温过低会造成缺料,塑件无光泽;料温过高易溢边,塑件起泡.模温低时收缩率、伸长率、抗冲击强度高,抗弯、抗压、抗张强度低;模温超过l20℃时塑件冷却慢,易变形,粘模.可用挤出、注塑、吹塑和真空成型方法进行加工,制造各种板材、制件、容器、管件和薄膜等,其中最常用的是注塑成型法.

聚碳酸酯的生产方法分为界面光气法(界面缩聚法)和酯交换法.迄今占世界90%左右生产能力的装置使用的是界面光气法工艺.但光气有剧毒,界面光气法工艺的副产物对环境也有害.目前,聚碳酸酯的生产高度集中.世界最大的4家聚碳酸酯生产公司是通用电气、拜耳、陶氏化学和日本帝人,其装置能力分别占2003年世界总生产能力的34% 、31%、9%和8%,4家公司产能占世界总产能的82%.除日本帝人外,亚洲企业生产能力均在6.5万吨以下.我国是聚碳酸酯开发最早的国家之一,早在1958年由沈阳化工研究院首先开发成功酯交换法工艺,并于1965年在大连塑料四厂建成100吨/年的生产装置.到20世纪70年代末期,采用国内技术生产聚碳酸酯的企业先后多达20余家,总生产能力已超过3000吨/年.80年代我国还有8套聚碳酸酯生产装置在生产运营.但是由于工艺技术落后、设备简陋以及原料来源等问题:致使产品质量差,消耗高,迫使多数企业停产.
