The technological application of chitosan is limited by the insolubilitv of the polymer.at 1 pH over 5.0 Further,functionality of chitosan depends on the molecular structure and its solubility.Solubility plays an important role in the biological application of any compound. Annealed chitosan polymorphs (anhydrous form) are usually associated with the decreased solubility and loss of functionalitv. Solubility of various chitosan was measured at different pH values(Fig.3).The results showed that solubility of chltosan was associated closely with pH. The solubility of chitosan was decreased with increased pH. Briefly,in the acid solution of pH 8.transmittance of solution could decrease to be about 11% ..Therefore,dilute aqueous acidic condition was needed for the complete dissolution of native chitosan.However,the advantage of solubility,of low-molecular-weight chitosan.In the present study was easy to be seen.It was readily soluble in the aqueous medium. Transmittance of solution could reach more than 95% in entire range of pH 1~13
