emergency!

One Sunday morning on February 12th,1809,in a small cabin somewhere near Hodgenville in Harding County,Kentucky,a midwife was helping a moaning expectant mother,Nancy Hanks,to deliver her baby. The cabin was in a desolated and empty wilderness matted with weeds and grasses. In the midst of wailing cries of the mother,a baby boy was finally born; he was Abraham Lincoln, who would be the sixteenth president of the United States 52 years later.
It is not an overstatement if we say that the Lincoln family was a typical immigrant family moving westwards along the American frontier.Samuel Lincoln, the ancestor of this family, initially moved from England which was on the other side of the Atlantic,to settle down in Massachusetts which was on the eastern part of North America.During the American Revolution, the Lincoln family moved again to Virginia, and in 1782,they followed the desolated path and reached Kentucky in the central part of America.Later on they tossed about migrating from place to place and finally settled down somewhere near Hodgenville in Harding County where Abraham Lincoln was born in 1809.When Lincoln just reached 21 in 1830,they moved again to Megan,Illinois in the Midwest.
