Cell phones are a wonderful convenience and fun gadgets to have.However,there is still debate about whether or not they belong in schools.Consensus needs to be reached between parents,students,and educators regarding the fair use in schools.Certainly to ban them completely is to ignore some of the educational advantages of having a cell phone in the classroom.Also,there needs to be sensible communication concerning the misuses of cell phones; some uses are definitely unacceptable.
Educators,parents and students should think of some of these possibilities when addressing the cell phone issue:
* Students can take pictures of class projects to e-mail or show to parents.Ordinarily,parents do not see projects that are completed in groups in school.
* Students can text message missed assignments to classmates that are absent.A buddy system can be put into place.
* Many cell phones are equipped with calculators—plenty of new math curricula encourage the use of a calculator when problem-solving.A student should become accustomed to having a calculator handy for both homework and real life math applications.
* If a student is slow to copy notes from the board,pictures can be taken of the missed notes and accessed later.Ditto sending notes to absent classmates.
* Students can listen to music with ear buds if the cell phone is equipped with this option during independent study—many students find this relaxing and comfortable and are more productive as a result.

Mobile devices are getting smaller and more powerful. They have the ability to deliver learning objects and provide access to online systems and services. Today, mobile devices such as cell phones, personal digital assistants (PDAs), smart phones, Blackberry, iPods, MP3 and MP4 players are finding their way into classrooms in students’ pockets. These high tech gadgets are useful learning support tools for students. Unfortunately, many teachers and administrators have serious concerns about the use of these high tech gadgets in schools. Some schools are so afraid and go extreme to ban these mobile devices for security and other reasons. It is true that mobile devices could be disruptive and dangerous in schools.As teachers and educators, we should educate our students with the proper use of the mobile technologies.Teachers and school administrators should embrace the rich learning enhancing possibilities that these mobile devices provides and will provide even more so in the future. Instead of banning these wonderful learning tools in schools, we must ensure that educational practices include the adoption of mobile technologies in productive ways.

Now, the topic of whether the students can use mobile phones in school is becoming more and more heat(heated). Different people have diffrent oppinions on it. some are for it and some are against it. As for me, I think students should be allowed to use mobile phones. High-tech communicational machines are needed for students to get more news around the world, especially for the ones living in school. With mobile phones, we can learn more things about outer world more quickly .Mobile phones play an important role among the young, too. They can help us to communicate with friends that are away from us easily. And they can help us to tell our parents whether we're in danger, in trouble, or meeting with other problems.
so I think our students should be allowed to use moble phones in school, anyhow, its advantages have an advantage over its disadvantages.
