It is of the greatest importance for the young person, who is still unadapted and
has as yet achieved nothing, to shape his conscious ego as effectively as possible,
that is, to educate his will...He must feel himself a man of will, and may safely
depreciate everything else in him and deem it subject to his will, for without this
illusion he could not succeed in adapting himself socially.
