To analyze the causes of the longitudinal cracking in 17Cr2Ni2Mo materials used in the gear shaft of the main drive after the carburizing process and storage stage,and to conduct the plausible research and applications of the heat treatments,we have our results to show that it is possible to avoid the longitudinal cracks by obtaining an ideal metallic phase texture through an optimization of strict controls of the quality of forging,carburizing,quenching,and annealing techniques

Analyzed the reason of main drive 17Cr2Ni2Mo material gear shaft carburizing quenching after placed in the process of longitudinal cracking, and the heat treatment process of the research and application. The results show that, through strict control of forging, normalizing quality improvement of carburizing and quenching and tempering process, the microstructure can be obtained, avoiding longitudinal cracks.
