This morning I went to the English corner which is in the park near my home. It is three years since it was founded. Many middle school students as well as college students and foreigners take part in the activity. People there practice speaking English by talking about something interesting. People also exchange the experience in English Learning. I think it is a good chance for me to use what I have learnt in my English class. I felt very cool after I got back home. I’ll try my best to learn English better, for it is so widely used in the world.
3TRAFFIC
Today, I was late for school because the traffic was jam. I usually so to school by bike but I hurt my leg the day before yesterday. So I had’to go to school by taxi this morning. I left home very early. When I took the taxi, I found the traffic bad. The traffic was so busy that the car couldn’t move at all. I think the government should get the road wider so that the car can run easily and smoothly.

My parents love me very much. They take good care of me in everyday life. When I have problem, I always ask them for help. They often encourage me to do my best in my lessons at school and they expect me to become a top student in my class or in my school. They always want to me to spend all my time on my lessons. I like music and I am interested in the Internet. When I spend some time listening the music or online in the evening, they will stop me from doing that. I have told them I want to study well and I also want to enjoy life. So I hope we can understand each other soon.

I am a middle school student. I study many subjects at school. There are Chinese, maths, English, PE and so on. Among them, I like English best, because in class I can not only learn how to use the language but also know some foreign culture. Sometimes they sound interesting, for they are quite different from ours. With the teachers’ help, my English has improved a lot. It’s known that Beijing is going to host the 2008 Olympic Games. At that time, English must be the most useful language in our city. I have made up my mind to learn English well and be the top student in English learning.

The 2008 Olympic Games is drawing near. All of us are looking forward to it. In order to host a successful Olympic Games, we need to do a lot of hard work. For example, we should improve the traffic condition in Beijing.
I think we can have a better traffic as long as we take steps in three different ways. First, we need to control the rapid growth of the number of private cars, because too many private cars will lead to serious traffic jams, as well as air pollution. Second, we must make greater efforts to develop mass transportation system, such as bus lines and subway lines. Third, we must educate the public to let them better understand the traffic laws and regulations.
If the above-mentioned measures are successfully taken, I’m sure the traffic situation of Beijing will be much better by 2008.

Traveling is a good activity. When you are fed up with your work and study, and when you are free, you can go to a beautiful place to enjoy the beauty of nature, you can breathe fresh air, and make some friends. China’s One Child Policy is a good way to solve this problem and stop the population from growing so fast. It also can help our country develop quickly then people’s standard of living will become higher and higher.
At the same time a lot of other problems will be done with, such as employment problems, food problems, water problems and so on…So I think it is necessary for China to carry out this policy.

Every year many animals die. Some animals die because they are sick. Some die because people kill them and some die because they have nowhere to live. In winter holidays, I want to have full sleep and eat good food in order to replenish myself. Last but not the least, I will have a good rest.

But I didn’t do something special. I stayed at home and watched TV. Oh! I wrote an English daily composition. It was my homework. Today, I have slept for 14 hours. I thought I was very tired. It was time for dinner. I must go! I am very hungry.

It was the third day of our winter holiday. Today, there are many business in my mother’s company. So my mother told me to help my uncle who is the manager of my mother’s company. I sat in my mother’s office and help her answer the telephone. While I was free, I was writing my homework. Although I also have a lot of time to do my homework, I still do it. But most of them would be sent to my mother’s business friends. I chose the best basket of red bayberries to eat. I put the rest in my refrigerator. Red bayberry is my hometown’s special product. It is well-known in china. Many people like to eat it.

Today, I still went to my mother’s office. My mother was very busy, so was my father. They always live in Beijing. They must get up early. Because they will manage the factory. So I know they are very laborious. So I should save my money. Also I should help them. Although I can’t do something useful, but I think I should share the work with them. I am one of my family member. In the future, I will take a job and work. It’ time for me to begin to learn how to work.
A Fishy Story
Two avid fishermen go on a fishing trip. They rent all the equipment: the reels, the rods, the wading suits, the rowboat, the car, and even a cabin in the woods. They spend a fortune.
The first day they go fishing, but they don't catch anything. The same thing happens on the second day, and on the third day. It goes on like this until finally, on the last day of their vacation, one of the men catches a fish.
As they're driving home they're really depressed. One guy turns to the other and says, "Do you realize that this one lousy fish we caught cost us fifteen hundred dollars?"
The other guy says, "Wow! It's a good thing we didn't catch any more!"

A lady lost her handbag in the bustle of Christmas shopping. It was found by an honest little boy and returned to her.
Looking in her purse, she commented, "Hmmm. That's funny. When I lost my bag there was a $20 bill in it. Now there are twenty $1 bills."
The boy quickly replied, "That's right, lady. The last time I found a lady's purse, she didn't have any change for award."

Late for work
Tom had this problem of getting up late in the morning and was always late for work. His boss was mad at him and threatened to fire him if he didn't do something about it. So Tom went to his doctor who gave him a pill and told him to take it before he went to bed.
Tom slept well and in fact beat the alarm in the morning. He had a leisurely breakfast and drove cheerfully to work. "Boss," he said, "The pill actually worked!"
"That's all fine" said the boss. "But where were you yesterday?"

I am planning to spend my summer holiday on sports this year. Playing basketball is always my favourite, so some of my classmates and I will form a small team and play basketball together. Sometimes we may have a match against some other teams and I do enjoy the sense when we win the game.

Today I found time was a cruel thing. Whatever man is, time always goes on. It won’t stay to wait for somebody. You can’t use anything to exchange time. Time is also a fair thing. Although you have a lot of money or you enjoy high reputation, time won’t leave them more. Today I found I hadn’t enough time. Although I have more than a-month holiday, but I found I had a lot of things to do. I had a lot of homework to do and I am essential to complete the homework as soon as I have time.

I have rested for 10 days. In these days, I felt very bored. I didn’t know to do what. Although I had a lot of things to do, I felt uncomfortable. I was ill because of the hot weather. I was tired, sleepy and had no strength. My parents are worried about my health. in fact, it didn’t matter. I was always in the room with air-conditioner and opened it in a low temperature. So when I went out, the high temperature disagreed to me.At last, I was ill.

Yesterday we played happily, but there were only ten people. I remembered last year there were twenty-two people at all. I heard some my friends had gone abroad. They went abroad to study. Maybe I couldn’t see them in the future. I think next year we won’t make a party. Next year is a very important year. We all will prepare the new term’s new subject.I know, it is the most important for us now.
1 My best friend
I have not only a lot of common friends, but also a special friend. He is my father. My father isn’t tall but he is very kind and lovely. He usually helps me with my maths and physics in the evening. During that time, he is my teacher. At weekends he plays cheese, cards with me. When I was in trouble. He always helped me in time. I prefer my father to any other friends.
