I think I can understand Mei.However,it is not good enough that a person is only good at examinations.An excellent student should be active in attending various activities so that different abilities can be developed.Therefore,you can encourage your friend to attend the contest actively.On the other hand,you'd better persuade other classmates to help her and encourage her to be bold."Come on,Mei!We are with you forever!" I believe you can do it and Mei can make it!
