'Look Up' was posted to YouTube on April 25, and just 10 days later already has over 14million views.
The video starts off with Turk saying he has '422 friends, yet I'm lonely'. It continues to tell the story of a boy who meets a girl when he gets lost and asks for direction.
The two then become a couple, and the video shows them sharing romantic dinners, strolls through the countryside and laughs on the couch.
The couple buy a house, get married and have a baby girl, who we see grow up and leave the nest. Their daughter later comes back, having married and had a baby herself and the pround grandfather clutches his grandson.
As his graying wife dies, she whispers about how 'she's happy she got stopped by that lost boy in the street'.
But here's the catch - it never happened. The film then goes back the moment the boy would have asked for directions, and his 'future wife' is seen passing by as he looks at his phone - likely posing his question to Google Maps instead.
Because, as Turk explains, 'when you're too busy looking down, you don't see the chances you miss.'

We always celebrated Dad’s birthday on Thanksgiving Day, even after he entered a nursing home. When we knew
it might be his last birthday, the whole family decided to get together for a huge birthday celebration at the nursing
home.
Dad was a good storyteller and we were always his listeners. During a quiet moment, I announced it was now Dad’s
turn to listen to stories for a change. I wanted everyone to tell Dad what we loved about him. The room became quiet.
Then one after another, people told stories from their hearts, while Dad listened with tears in eyes.
Everyone seemed to have more than one story. Even the little grandchildren couldn’t wait to tell Dad why they loved
him. For a man who had been kind to so many hundreds of people in his life, here was our chance to tell him how
much we love him. A few months later, at Dad’s memorial service, we more fully realized what we had given to Dad
that night. Those are the stories people normally tell at a funeral (葬礼) after a loved one is no longer alive to hear the
words. They tell stories, full of tears. But we had given those memories to Dad in his life, and we had told them
through laughter, together with hugs and joy. He had them to hold and enjoyed them from time to time in his mind
during his last days and months.
Words do matter, and they are enough. We just need to say them or to speak them publicly the ones we love. That’s the ways to give back love and that’s our chance to celebrate a person in his or her life.

What’s the secret of being a great friend? Here are some tips to help you be a nice friend.
Laugh and cry together.
Laughing with a friend is the best, but sometimes it’s crying that brings you closer together. Don’t be afraid to be
yourself with your friends. Share your true feelings—you may learn that your friends feel the same way. As a result, friends will understand each other better.
Be a thoughtful gift giver.
Gift-giving isn’t just for birthdays or holidays—it can be a fun way of making your friends feel special! But don’t
buy expensive presents—be creative! Making things shows you care, because you put time and thought into your gifts. Bake him favorite cookies, write him a poem, or draw something special for him. Small thoughtful gifts, such as picking a flower for a friend who is sick, just might cheer him up.
Stand up for him.
It’s hard to watch someone laugh at a friend. But don’t just stand there, do something about it! You can find a
creative way to solve the problem to make others look at your friend differently. Other times, you need to show your courage and support him—he needs you. It may be not easy, but it’s what a good friend should do!
Are two holidays not enough? Do you dream of three, or even four? Last month, the State
Council(国务院) encouraged primary and high schools to give students a spring or autumn break without changing the total number of student vacation days.
Students in China currently only have long holidays in two seasons —summer and winter. These holidays are
usually 10 to 12 weeks in total.“If we had spring and autumn breaks, (42)I would have time to taste all four seasons instead of burying (埋) myself in my studies,”Gao Yiran, a 15-year-old boy told China Daily. Seasonal holidays during autumn and spring may be something new in China, but not in other countries.
In the US, students usually have three holidays. Summer holiday is the longest one, and runs from mid-June until
early September. Summer camp is one of kids’ favorite places to go to, where they can make new friends and try some new activities. Winter holiday starts from mid-December and ends in early January. Most kids and their parents go to spend time together over the Christmas period. Spring break comes in mid- March and (43) is usually a 10-day holiday.
Schools in Japan start in April, as most people think that spring is the perfect time for new things. For school
children ,summer holiday lasts from July 20 to August 31. Most kids are busy with club activities including sports and dancing. Spring break starts at the end of March and continues till early April. It is a good chance for a short family trip around the city.

Look Up a poem by Gary Turk
I have 422 friends on my phone yet I am lonely
I speak to all of them everyday but none of them really know me
Looking into their eyes or at a name on the phone
I looked round and realized
All this technology we have it’s just an illusion
Put your hands behind your head, step away from your phone
You don’t need to stare at your contact list
Just talk to one another, learn to co-exist
When I was a child I’d never be home
I’d be out with my friends, on our bikes we’d roam
Now the park is so quiet it gives me a chill
See no children outside and the swings hanging still
We’re a generation of idiots, smart phones and dumb people
So look up from your phone, shut down the display
Take in your surroundings, make the most of today
Just one real connection is all it can take
To show you the difference that being there can make
Be there in the moment as she gives you the look
That you remember forever as when love overtook
The time she first held your hand or first kissed your lips
The time you don’t have to tell hundreds of what you’ve just done
ause you want to share this moment with just this one.
The time you sell your computer so you can buy a ring
For the girl of your dreams who is now the real thing
How you’re real glad you didn’t waste it by looking down at your smart phone The time you hold your wife’s hand, sit down beside her bed.
You tell her that you love her, lay a kiss upon her head.
She then whispers to you quietly as her heart gives a final beat
That she’s lucky she got stopped by that lost boy in the street
But none of these times ever happened. You never had any of this
When you’re too busy looking down, you don’t see the chances you miss So look up from your phones, shut down those displays
Don’t waste your life getting caught in the net
ause when the end comes, nothing’s worse than regret Look up from your screen, shut down the display Stop watching your phone , live life the real way.
