篇一：莲华的十种比喻

据《除盖障菩萨所问经》卷九：莲华出污泥而不染，妙香广布，令见者喜悦、吉祥，故以莲华比喻菩萨所修之十种善法。即：

1.离诸污染：菩萨修行，能以智慧观察诸境，而不生贪爱，虽处五浊生死流中亦无所染，譬如莲花出污泥而不染！

2.不与恶俱：菩萨修行灭恶生善，为守护身、口、意三业清净，而不与丝毫之恶共俱，譬如莲花虽微滴水而不停留。

3.戒香充满：菩萨修行，坚持诸戒律，以此戒能灭身口恶，犹如香能除粪秽之气，譬如莲花妙香广布，遐迩皆闻！

4.本体清净：菩萨虽处五浊中，然因持戒，得身心清净无染，譬如莲花虽处污泥中，然其体自然洁净而无染！

5.面相熙怡：菩萨心常禅悦，诸相圆满，使见者心生欢喜，如莲花开时，令见者心喜悦！

6.柔软不涩：菩萨修慈善行，然于诸法亦无所滞碍，故体常清净，柔软细妙而不粗涩，譬如莲花体性柔软润泽！

7.见者皆吉：菩萨善行成就，形相庄严美妙，见者皆获吉祥，如莲花芬馥美妙，见者及梦见者皆吉祥！

8.开敷具足：菩萨修行功成，智慧福德庄严具足，如莲花开敷，花果具足！

9.成熟清净：菩萨妙果圆熟而慧光发现，能使一切见闻者，皆得六根清净，如莲花成熟，若眼睹其色，鼻闻其香，则诸根亦得清净！

10.生已有想：菩萨初生时，诸天人皆悦乐护持，以其必能修习善行，证菩提果，如莲花初生时，虽未见花，然诸众人皆生已有莲花之想。

Steal What?

This story took place several years ago, when our boys were about eight years old. It was the first game of the season, and the first game in which the boys began pitching. I went out to discuss ground rules with the umpire and realized that is was also the first year that the boys could steal bases. Unfortunately, we had not gone over this in practice. As I got to the subject of stealing bases, I announced enthusiastically, "And this year we get to steal!" The news caused the boys to erupt into yelling and cheering. Their response left me thinking positively that this might all work out okay after all. Then the cheers died down, and as our team was about to take the field, one player loudly exclaimed, "Steal what?!" I let out a groan as I realized that the question had come from my son!

The Lion and the Hare

A LION came across a Hare, who was fast asleep. He was just in the act of seizing her, when a fine young Hart trotted by, and he left the Hare to follow him. The Hare, scared by the noise,

awoke and scudded away. The Lion was unable after a long chase to catch the Hart, and returned to feed upon the Hare. On

finding that the Hare also had run off, he said, "I am rightly

served, for having let go of the food that I had in my hand for

the chance of obtaining more."
