Lastest Writing:

Thankfully, we've got more writing from Rowling which uncovers the dark and murky history of Inferi. Read more: Potter undead were 'vagrant homeless'

JK Rowling has revealed that monsters in her sixth book, The Half-Blood Prince, were the animated dead of "vagrant, homeless muggles" who were killed by Voldemort when the dark wizard and villain of the book was rising to power.

Rowling explains that an Inferus is a "corpse that has been reanimated by a curse" to become "a grisly puppet" that can be used as a servant by a dark wizard. Used by Voldemort in the sixth book to protect a Horcrux, the Inferi have "many uses" as "a warrior or guardian with no regard for its own safety".

Rowling goes on to explain that Inferi are not zombies, however, because "zombies are not part of British folklore but associated with the myths of Haiti and parts of Africa", and would therefore not be encountered in Britain by Hogwarts students.

Update: Here?s the sixth riddle.

Spoiler: The riddle reveals new writing in which Rowling explains she originally intended to have a vampire teacher at Hogwarts.

Although vampires exist in the world of Harry Potter, as shown by the literature that Harry and his friends study in Defence Against the Dark Arts, they play no meaningful part in the story.

“Looking back through my earliest notebooks, however, I found that on my very earliest list of staff, there was a subjectless vampire teacher I had forgotten, called “Trocar”.

“然而回顾我早期的笔记,我发现我很早很早的人员清单里,有一名被我遗忘的不教授学科的吸血鬼老师,名叫“霍欧卡”。

Evidently I did not think much of him as a character, though, because he disappears fairly early on in my notes.

For a long time there was a persistent fan rumour that Snape might be a vampire. While it?s true that he has an unhealthy pallor, no corpses with puncture marks in their necks ever turn up at Hogwarts.”

The fourth and fifth days led to no new info, but solving the riddle on day three revealed why Rowling made Snape Potions Master.

Update: Here?s the third riddle.

Spoiler: The riddle reveals new writing from Rowling, explaining why she made Snape Potions Master:

剧透:谜语中暗藏罗琳的新故事,解释了为什么她让斯内普成为魔药课教师:

“Chemistry was my least favourite subject at school, and I gave it up as soon as I could. Naturally when I was trying to decide which subject Harry?s arch-enemy, Severus Snape, should teach, it had to be the wizarding equivalent. This makes it all the stranger that I found Snape?s introduction to his subject quite compelling (?I can teach you to bottle fame, brew glory, even stopper death…?), apparently part of me found Potions quite as interesting as Snape did; and indeed I enjoyed creating potions in the books, and researching ingredients for them.”

The second riddle led to information about Florean Fortesque, owner of Diagon Alley?s ice cream parlour.

Rowling reveals she had him kidnapped, intending him to be rescued later by Harry, but eventually cut the plot line.

Rowling writes:

"I seemed to have had him kidnapped and killed for no reason. He is not the first wizard whom Voldemort murdered because he knew too much (or too little), but he is the only one I feel guilty about, because it was all my fault."

"我似乎本来不用给出任何原因就让他被绑架然后杀掉了。他不是被伏地魔杀掉的第一个巫师了,因为他知道的太多(或者太少),但是他是唯一一个让我有罪恶感的,因为都是我的错。"

We also got a short history of the Leaky Cauldron pub.

“Some people argue that the oldest pub in London is the White Hart on Drury Lane. All of these people are Muggles, and all of them are wrong. The oldest pub in London, as any wizard will tell you, is the Leaky Cauldron on Charing Cross Road.” “有人认为伦敦最古老的酒吧是德鲁里巷的白鹿酒吧。这些人都是麻瓜,而且他们都错了。伦敦最古老的酒吧,任何一个巫师都会告诉你是查令十字路的破釜酒吧。”

The first riddle revealed a history of the fictional town of Cokeworth, where Lily Evans and Severus Snape grew up.

Here?s a short excerpt from the entry:

这里放一小段摘录:

“Uncle Vernon has a vague idea that Cokeworth is so distinctly unmagical, the letters will not follow them there. He ought to have known better; after all Petunia?s sister, Lily, turned into a talented witch in Cokeworth.”

A Book Report of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone

A Book Report of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone

When I was in primary school, a little boy named Harry Potter became one of the most famous boys all over the world. At that time, all of my friends including me wanted to have some special magic just like him. Thanks to J. K. Rowling, the author of the Harry Potter series, and her Harry Potter, I have the chance to make a miraculous friend and know the magic world. He accompanied me in my whole childhood.

J. K. Rowling, formerly Joanne Rowling. She was born on July 31st, 1965. She is a British author and famous as the creator of the Harry Potter fantasy series, the idea for which was suddenly stuck her mind while on a train trip from Manchester to London in 1990. On the train, she saw a boy who was thin and weak, wearing a pair of glasses and smiling at her from the out side of the window. She was attracted by the boy and a ten-year-old boy Harry Potter was created. Since that time, she has spent 6 years to finish her writing and Harry Potter has become the world wide fantastic character. The Potter books have gained worldwide attention. As fas as we know, the books have won multiple international awards for which have been sold more than 400 million copies. They have become the best-selling book series in history, and been the basis for a series of films which has become the highest-grossing film series in history.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone as the first book of the Harry’s series, it pave the way for the plots of other six books. Harry Potter is an orphan. When he was very young, his parents were killed by Voldemort, who was a bad and frightful sorcerer, but failed to kill him and only left a scar in his forehead. So the Albus Dumbledore and Hagrid give him to his aunt Mrs. Dursley’s family, who lived in Privet Drive of number four. But his aunt and uncle were bad to him. They let Harry to live in cupboard which under stairs. And their silly son Dudley always teased him. His childhood was full of helpless, but he could not say anything because they were Harry's only relative. However, everything was changed on Harry’ s eleven years old birthday. Thousand of letters gushed to the room, these were all for Harry. That night Hagrid came to Harry uncle’ s house, gave Harry a big cake

new harry potter and

and asked him to go to Hogwarts for study.

On the way to Hogwarts, Harry Potter met his two best friends, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. They are also the main characters of the book. Then they experienced all kinds of fantastic things at Hogwarts together. These three kids have different characteristics. But also because of these differences, they can help each other when they faced things and their friendship also became more and more firmer . Although they were very young, Harry relied on his talent, became the youngest seeker in the Quidditch team. With the help of Hermione, Harry catched the golden ball and wined the game. With the development of the plot, they found Professor Quirrell always has some abnormal behavior. They followed him secretly and knew a surprising news. That is the Professor Quirrell was controlled by the Voldemort and he wanted to steal the Sorcerer’s Stone. They decided to try their best to find the stone before the Voldemort. During a face to face and furious fight, the Professor Quirrell touched the Harry’s body and then died. So the Voldemort’s spirit had to escape to other place. Harry Potter and his friends defeated the Voldemort and protected the sorcerer’s stone.

A lot of people were amazed that a small "children' s book" was so popular, even among adults. It's had major sales, and made mountains of money. I still remember just how crazy people got each time a new book came out. Rowling's magical world is a thrilling place.

Of course, like many pop culture works, the Harry Potter series has both big fans and big haters. The arguments back and forth between lovers and haters end up resembling a wizard's duel. I’m one of the biggest fans of Harry Potter series. Although they are looks like “children’s book”, I think we can also learn a lot from the stories.

Firstly, the Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone shows us the true meaning of friendship. In this book, although the three kids meet with each other not long time before, they all know the importance of the friendship. When any one of them gets into troubles, the others always try their best to help him or her. They have no intention to give up others in order to guarantee their own security. Most of time the troubles are so difficult for the teenage children to solve, but they always stand together to conquer them one by one. With trust and friendship, the three friends can save until the end. What’s more, from the friendship among them, we also know the cooperation can help you become much more powerful than ever before.

Secondly, their courage to dare to fight for the dark forces is also worthy learning. Harry finally solves the problem because of his courage, determination, friendliness and bravery. We have to say that he is quite gifted that he can catch lots of chance others will never get.

However, just like what Snape says, talent is not enough. Harry is special not only because he survived from Voldemort's attack but he is quite virtuous. Become kindhearted, then you will find the world is much more beautiful than before. Never worry about being hurt by other evil powers because the God will bless every thing kind.

Besides, the story also tells us never lose heart to your life. We have to say that Harry's early years are quite dark.He was bullied by his cousin's family who he lived with. The poor boy is quite lonely because his parents are both dead. However, the God is always kind. This poor boy finally find himself the legend in wizards' world and has great friends that he will never feel lonely. The luck will come to you life accidentally without any sign for it. So, never lose heart,

smile to your life as well as get ready to face the problems. With the help of friends, the world will never become dark for you.

In conclusion, I think Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone is not only fun and enjoyable, but also bound to be a classic. If is not a classic, then the term hardly has a legitimate meaning. When we are attracted by the ups and downs of plots, at the same time, we should remember the following sentences: The evil thing will never get win. Armed with the friendship and courage, you will become the strongest one in the world. You may meet some difficulties in the way to the destination, never give up, all the difficulties exist to help you get ready to reach the destination.

It all began in the summer of 1995, Larry Page, 24, and Sergey Brin, 23, met at Stanford University. In their project, the two students came up with a plan to make a new search engine(引擎). They founded(成立)Google a year later. It became a company on September 7,1998.

Google is not the first search engine, but it is certainly the most successful. Google’s worldwide market share(市场占有率)was as high as 82.8 percent last year,

according to Marketshare. Hitslink.com.

Before Google, search engines ranked (排名) websites simply by how many times the webpage has been visited. Page and Bin used a completely different way, by the number of other websites that linked(链接) to that site. Google helps people find the most important site that connects to their key words.

As popular as Google in the English world, in China, Baidu is the most popular and biggest search engine. It held a market share of nearly 80 percent for web search in 2012.

If you spend some time in an English-speaking country, you might hear the term “etiquette”. It means normal and polite social behavior. This may seem like a difficult word at first, but it can be very useful to understand.

Etiquette is not the same in every culture or in every situation. For example, standing very close to the person you are talking with is quite common in some Asian countries. However,if you do this in Europe, some people might feel uncomfortable. Even in China,we all know that etiquette is not the same in all situations. Perhaps we think that talking loudly in our own homes is fine, but there are other places where talking loudly is not allowed. For example, most people would agree that talking loudly in a library,a museum or a movie theater is impolite. Even if you are with your friends,it is better to keep your voice down in public places.

If we see someone breaking the rules of etiquette,we may politely give them some suggestions. One of the most polite ways is to ask someone,Would you mind doing this or Would you mind not doing that. People don’t usually like to be criticized,so we have to be careful how we do this.
