The modern Olympics started in Athens, Greece in 1896. Its motto is “Faster, Higher, Stronger”. The Olympic rings are a symbol of the Olympic Games. You can find at least one of these colors in the flag of each country in the world.

There are summer Olympics and Winter Olympics. They are both held every four years. The Winter Olympic Games are usually held two years before the Summer Games.

Nowadays, the Olympic Games are held by different cities in turn. People from all over the world meet to compete and become friends. The Olympics are becoming more and more popular. In the future, more cities will have the chance to hold the Olympics and the Olympic Games will be more exciting.
