P: Then how do you Chinese doctors treat your patients by using this theory? 医生:大体说来,中医有两种治疗方式:药物治疗和非药物治疗。

D: Roughly speaking, there are two common ways of CTM curing diseases: drug therapy and non-drug therapy.

P: That's very interesting. What drugs do you often apply?

D: As for drug therapy, traditional medicines are used such as herbs, mineral, animals, etc.

一、课程的性质、目的和要求

本课程是我校针灸推拿学专业高年级开设的一门英语语言技能课程。其课程性质是专业必修课程,是我校ESP教学(English for Special Purpose)的核心课程之一。

医学英语写作,其教学目的是:培养学生正确的写作方法以及逻辑思维能力,帮助学生打下扎实的医学英语写作基础。在学生原有医学英语语言基础上,进一步学习基本医学意念功能的表达,掌握“医学英语书信”,“药品及仪器说明书”,“临床报告”,“病史”,“病例报告”等应用文的写作方法和技巧,以及医学论文摘要的写作基本规范。经过从句型到段落系统地训练,最终使学生能够写出内容切题、条理清晰、语言正确的医学英语应用文,掌握用英语撰写基本医学报告的能力,并具备书写和修改医学论文英语摘要(medical abstract)的能力。

二、课程教学内容和学时安排

本课程的总课时为32学时,计2.0学分。所使用教材为《医学专业英语?写作分册》(人民卫生出版社,主编白永权,ISBN7-117-04031-9/R?4032)。该教材主要是加强学生专业英语的写作训练,特别是实用写作和摘要写作中的常用句型或结构使用的训练。一方面,本教材介绍了医学英语写作的理论和技巧,另一

方面,教材还提供了多样化的练习,使学生在短时间内提高专业英语写作水平。本教材共分为9个章节。前5个章节涉及“医学英语书信”,“药品及仪器说明书”,“临床报告”,“病史”,“病例报告”等应用文的写作方法和技巧,后4章介绍了医学论文摘要的写作,包括摘要的分类和格式,摘要中常见句型,常见用词错误分析和摘要写作中的修辞问题。因此,根据教材特点,医学英语写作课程的内容设计,按照学时和教材具体内容,教学学时分配如下。

三、教学方法

基于医学英语写作课程的应用性和实践性要求,因此教学过程中,采用了课堂讲授、应用文写作、案例阅读、案例分析、医学英语论文摘要阅读、写作与修改、习文讲评等多种方式进行,灵活使用多种教学方法,坚持以“学生的学为主题,教师的教为引导”的原则,根据学生学习记忆的发展规律,并利用多媒体教学,采用学导式教学法,激发学生学习的积极性。同时,采用PBL教学法(Problem-based learning),在学生课前预习讨论的基础上,教师引入写作案例,引导学生发现问题,解决问题的能力。

教学要重视教材本身,注重培养学生掌握符合英语习惯的篇章结构和表达方式;注重对学生作文的课堂讲评,从篇章结构、逻辑思维、语言连贯、选词得当等方面进行课堂讲评,让学生了解怎样从宏观和微观两方面体现英语表达的习惯,提高书面交际的能力与水平。希望通过每一个环节的教学,从一个新的角度和高度训练学生的写作能力,帮助学生掌握扎实的医学英语写作基础。平时作业量应不少于8学时,除了完成课内作业外,还应在每个章节讲授完之后布置与本章节所学内容相关的写作作业。

四、成绩考核方法

教学评价采用形成性评价,考核总成绩=平时成绩×30%+考试成绩×70% 。 平时成绩的评定:考勤、各项课堂表现、写作作业检查的综合测评,由主讲
