Happiness is the most precious thing in the world, which can be obtained in different ways. If people are asked that what the happiness is, most people may say that it’s hard to say.

This year, before Mid-Autumn festival and the National Day, the CCTV raised a question: what is happiness? The reporters had fanned out country and interviewed workers from all walks of life. Although different people had different replies, there is no denying that the study was causing a deep thought about happiness. There were too many different replies, which are as follows:

An old lady: Contentment, pleasure, able to support myself a friend. That's happiness.

A young man: I define happiness as love, peace, freedom, I mean respect, justice, and you know what I'm saying? ...Life is beautiful.

A business man: Everybody has trouble in their lives. I don't know anybody who hasn't had any trouble in their lives... If you have more ups and downs, you are a lucky person.

A young mother: I have my child. That's really happy. Child is one part of my whole life.

Just feel comfortable and relax, like to feel comfortable, to feel ok, and to feel happy about people around you. That's it. To have your friends next to you. That's very important. Just not to be alone. This is also very important.

When you have like butterflies in your stomach, and you feel like you can handle the world. Just like sitting here, relaxing, listening to the nice music.

I guess it's a state where you're at peace with yourself. Being immersed in something completely. Freedom, in many ways. Doing what you want to do, and sharing with others.

As we can see, different people have different opinions.However, most people who faced with the question had no idea how to reply it. Happiness is a very simple psychological state originally, but why in today's society is so difficult to answer.

On the one hand, China ranks 125th on the Forbes'

gross national happiness (GNH) index, though its GDP is now the second largest in the world. This does not surprise us, because 35.97 million people in China still live in extreme poverty.

A high GNH may sound like pie in the sky, partly because the poor have to toil hard even to get enough food and clothes to survive. Some people have been having noodles and Chinese cabbages for supper for years;

others live in such remote places that it takes them a whole day to get to a town.

Economic growth is important, but it alone cannot raise the level of

people's happiness. For that to happen, the benefits of economic development have to reach every person in society, "the fruits of development (have to be) shared by all the people".

The poor desperately need help. The government needs to implement a variety of programs aimed at creating the conditions to improve the quality of life of all the people, especially the poor, in the most equitable way. In this sense, the Ministry of Finance's decision to allot 10.5 billion yuan for the improvement of education in rural areas is welcome news. But more support will be needed to raise the overall happiness of the people.

On the other hand, people often ignore the most beautiful scenery on the road side. In the economic society, most people are busy with their own business or something else and hurry up on their ways to go after something. They often forget the real meaning of the happiness. Let us put down the burden lightly, feel the happiness by heart.

As far as I’m concerned, happiness is a state of mind, a kind of

psychological feeling, a kind of comfort. Happiness is a kind of satisfaction, a sense of accomplishment, a kind of enjoying the happy state of mind.

Being in a good mood anytime and anywhere is the first thing for those who want to be happy. Furthermore, love makes great difference to happiness. If you have love in your heart, you will have happiness in your life. Putting on a happy face and thinking interesting things are helpful to bring happy feelings.
