Thinking for yourself is so important but why it’s difficult to think for yourself? Thinking for yourself means thinking of something on your own without being affected by other people. The most difficult thing is to avoid others’ influence because we live in many circles and many people will inculcate their ideas to us. What’s more, we always lack of strong mind so we tend to turn to others when we face difficulties. For example, we are asked to work out a difficult question by math teacher and we work hard but it doesn’t work. At this moment, many people will turn to their classmates or parents. Few students will insist on thinking for themselves although they know that thinking for themselves can help them make progress and develop the habit of thinking independently. It’s ridiculous that we are told to think for yourself but the teachers and people around us don’t make the harmonious environment to encourage us to think for yourself.

However, many people don’t agree with thinking for yourself and they even thwart this idea. In their opinions, people should do as they are told. If everyone thinks for themselves, this world will be trapped into mass.

In conclusion, thinking for yourself is so important that we should try our best to think independently, avoid being affected by others. No matter how difficult the problems are, believe yourself and think for yourself.

In every school a "top" crowd sets the pace, while the others follow their lead.Let's say the top crowd decides that it is smart to wear bright red sweaters. The situation can even become dangerous, if the top crowd decides that it is smart to drink or to drive cars at seventy miles an hour. Then the people who follow the lead are endangering their lives. 1. Brief Introduction (简要说明)

Please introduce yourself / Tell me something about yourself. Most interviews start off with this seemingly innocent question.

Self-introduction is the important to show yourself to others, whether it is great or not, it will leave an impression to others directly.

If your self-introduction is right and suitable, you can give others good and deep impression. Here, I will introduce how to write a impressive self-introduction.

When introducing yourself, your attitude should be modest, your language should be decency. You can do it by the following ways.

1) Evaluate yourself correctly. Face Others’ praise calmly, estimate yourself objectively. 2) Be modest. During introduction, don’t use very, No.1 excellent, such words may give others the arrogant impression of you.

3) Laugh at yourself. When introducing yourself, laughing at yourself may result in a surprisingly good effect. Of course, self-mockery had better contain a little humor and wisdom.

The key question for a successful and effective self introduction speech is: how much and what information do you want the audience to know about you?

2. A Rule of Thumb (经验法则) for Self Introduction Speeches

Focus on one speech topic. If you have to come up with a very brief 30, 60 second or a somewhat longer - two or three minutes - self introduction, make sharp choices. Do not write an award winning boring autobiography(自传).

Due to the fact that you have to write your speech around one theme, I recommend to develop one aspect of your life. That aspect will tell who you are and what you are about. Some people call this self introduction speech type a one-point speech, because it's based on one speech idea.

3. 12 Sample Self Introduction Topics

Look at the sample self introduction speech topics and pick out the aspects of your personal life you want to share with the audience. Approach the list below with the who, what, where, why, how and when questions. That's an effective way to outline your first thoughts.

10. Where are you from? Do your roots reveal something about yourself that's new for the

audience? That always works in a speech for self introduction.

11. Is there an object or prop（支持者，后盾，靠山） that means a lot to you? 12. What distinguishes you from other individuals in class?

4. Sample Self Introduction Speech Outline

Now that you have picked out a central thesis, use this self introduction sample speech outline.
