As president of the American Society

for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology放射治疗与肿瘤学, I am delighted to invite you to

thattend the 48 ASTRO Annual Meeting to be

held on November 5-9, 2006, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. ASTRO’s Annual Meeting is the premier scientific meeting in radiation oncology射线肿瘤学and is designed to address the educational needs of radiation oncologists, physicians, biologists, nurses and other health professionals involved in the field of radiation oncology, as well as oncologists working in related specialties.

The theme of the 2006 Annual Meeting

is “Topographic and Biologic Targeting in Radiation Oncology.” A major theme of

oncology has been the increased importance of targeting both biological signaling pathways and tumor topography with improved imaging and precision radiotherapy. This year at the Annual Meeting we will expand on this theme.

to inspire and energize audience and you will not want to miss the line for 2006. This year’s keynote speakers are dynamic renowned leaders. Sanjiv Sam Gambhir, M.D., Ph.D., professor of the Molecular Imaging Program at Stanford will address the Society on Monday, November 6. Gabriel N. Hortobagyi, M.D., Professor of Medicine and Chairman at M.D. Anderson Cancer Centre will speak on Wednesday, November 8. ASTRO and the Radiation Research Society will jointly sponsor the third keynote address given by Nobel Laureate, R. Timothy Hunt, Ph.D. As a British biochemist, Dr. Hunt was awarded the 2001 Nobel Prize in Physiology and Medicine for discoveries regarding cell cycle regulation

by cyclin and cyclin-dependent kinases. His keynote address is a part of the RRS scientific program and will be delivered on Wednesday, November 8.

When you come to Philadelphia in

November, you may want to set aside a day or two for sightseeing. As the birthplace of the United States, Philadelphia is indeed a diverse city that is rich in both history and culture. Leave time to check out some of the events arranged for ASTRO attendees. You can register for ASTRO tours that include the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall, the Betsy Rose House, the world’s largest private collection of Post Impressionist and early modern French art at the Barnes Foundation, and the oldest honorary medical academy at the college of Physcians.

Process of applying residence permit and employment permit

一、 Applying alien employment permit which issued by GZ Municipal Public Safety Bureau(5 working days)办理外国就业审批

1．公司证明（聘用外国人的原因）,

2．公司营业执照副本和组织机构代码证副本复印件

3．填写好《聘用外国人就业申请表》一式两份，并加盖公章；

4．就业者护照首页及签证页复印件；

5．就业者学历证书及简历复印件；

6．公司租赁合同和公司章程复印件（已办过外国人就业审批除外） ；

2.copy of business license or register certificate and organization code certificate；

二、 Applying alien employment license which issued by the GZ Labor and Social Safety Bureau(5 working days)就业许可证

1．已获通过的就业审批；

2．就业者护照首页及签证页复印件；

3．就业者学历证书及简历复印件；

4．公司营业执照副本各组织机构代码证副本复印件；

三、 Applying letter or telex of visa notification which issued by GZ Trade Economy Corporation Bureau (5 working days and the charge is 500RMB)办理邀请函

1. 营业执照副本(登记证)复印件；

2. 国税副本复印件；

3. 地税副本复印件；

4. 组织机构代码副本复印件；

5. 就业许可证书；

6. 公司信纸的申请证明（信纸需有公司的中英文、公司地址、电话、邮编）；

7. 申请人的护照首页

8. 一式三份的表格要盖章；

9. 如是家属请提供亲属关系证明和护照复印件

四、 Applying “Z” visa from the Chinese embassies, consulates and visa

offices办理“Z”签证

1．就业者护照首页复印件加盖公章；

2．邀请信；

3．就业许可证

4．如是就业者家属，需提供家属护照、就业者护照、就业许可证书（或就业证）复印件加盖公章，户籍证明、体检记录；

备注：获得工作邀请函后到境外的签证处申请“Z”签证。

Remarks: taking all these 4 documents above to apply for “z” visa at employee’s country or HongKong

五、 Applying employment permit at GZ Labor and Social Safety

1．需先取得“Z”签证入境，就业者护照首页及签证页复印件；

2．填写好《外国人就业登记表》；

3．就业者学历证书及简历复印件；

4．就业者劳动合同原件；

5．公司营业执照副本各组织机构代码证副本复印件；

6．公司证明。

8．大一寸彩色相片两张；

9.就业者住宿证明复印件。

Theme of the conference

The conference would focus on the transformation development of Shanxi and the central task of Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, with the theme “in accordance with Shanxi Province merchant culture, taking an advantage of Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, serving the overall situation of the development, revitalizing the economy of Shanxi Province”, grasp the opportunity of introducing large projects, good projects and high-level talents, make contribution to achieving the grand goal of “the twelfth five-year plan” of Shanxi Province and promoting the building process of “the reform testing area of the national resource-based economic restructuring with integrated support”.
